I got the pedals mounted, the floor in place, the rear end luggage rack done, the new battery (car) box done, and the windshield supports in this week so far. Will have more tomorrow and some new pics. It is starting to look like a golf cart towing a GL 650.

Hey,
Looks good, and really solid. In fact it looks pretty heavy - how much do you think it weighs? Any concern about it being too heavy?

Just curious, the work you have done so far, looks good, excellent fabrication work.

Yes, MikeCMP it is intentionally bottom heavy, I'd rather slide than roll. I told my neighbor that he will know when it is on the road when I start cutting doughnuts in the cul-de-sac in front of his house. I have the greatest weld testing neighborhood anyone could ask for here in Dogpatch. Hmm, cupholder, where should I put that Hmm.

Looks good,
Curious about your shifter linkage and steering, as well as your brakes. Are you keeping handlebars for steering and keeping the throttle and front brake on there?

Also, with it being a bit heavy, do you think you will have enough weight on the back wheel to get god traction?

How big of a gas tank are you thinking of putting on it?

Keep up with the updates!
Mike

A. Shifter linkage: Like a boat steering,
Brakes: hydraulic all around.
Steering: wheel.
Clutch, brakes, dimmer switch, throttle; All on the floor.

Q. Also, with it being a bit heavy, do you think you will have enough weight on the back wheel to get god traction?

A. Good question, Never considered that. We'll see.

Q. How big of a gas tank are you thinking of putting on it?

A. Stock GL 650 tank.

It's a fun project, design is by accident, my friend, neighbor, welder: Sam, say's it looks like a Model "A", again, We'll soon see.

I didn't accomplish a whole lot today, Modified the Porsche steering rack & pinion to mount to the MGB front end and ran the heater hoses from the engine to the relocated Radiator.

I spent a good part of yesterday engineering and fabricating a mounting bracket for the Porsche center steering rack & pinion unit and this morning getting it all bolted up solidly. Now I need to find the proper tie rod ends.

today I mounted the new master cylinder and the gas pedal. Kind of cool in the shop this week. Routing the Gas, Clutch, Choke, and shifter cables is challenging me next. I am awaiting the arrival of my rear brake cylinder, then to build a bracket on the swing arm.

Today, a couple neighborhood fans stopped in to see how things were coming along. At the time I was trying out my new swaging tool while routing my gas pedal and clutch cables. The swaging tool does it great, no need to clamp loops in the end of the cables. One thing I forgot was some turnbuckles to adjust the tension in the cables after hooking them up,(tomorrow). Dennis suggested, rather than splice a lot of wires that I should have fold down armrests with all the controls except the throttle, brakes, and clutch mounted on the armrest bars. I think I'll try it, might save some time it was a beautiful day, I don't know why I spent it in the shop. My bad.

What a ride. Thanks for taking time out and capturing it on camera. Watching it take shape it really cool. A lot of hard work and plenty of thought. Plus smokes if you got'em.

mr. softie I'll wait for you to take the first ride. I had to take the clutch cover off to modify the lever, clutch is now working. I have to bolt down the cockpit floor as I have some pulleys mounted to/under it.

Scratching the mechanical clutch and going back to my hydraulic clutch plan. Too many cables.

Stripping the parts off and restructuring the cockpit. One of my fans noticed how much effort it is for me to mount and dismount, and made some good suggestions. Watch for changes.
