Here's a picture of my SilverWing with a new windshield and some inexpensive sport bags I bought for it. Amazing the difference with the windshield!

Except for the fact that you've got a Silverwing and I've got a CX,
I've got the same setup. Is that a StreetShield EX and are those Dowco
Rallly side bags? And is that a SparX helmet? I've got the same
thing, just in a different color, how do you like it? Bike looks very nice.

Thank you! That's exactly what I have. Rode about 240 miles yesterday, and was very pleased with everything. Not 100% sure I have the bags set up exactly right. they didn't fall off anyway!

Kingston,
I like the Sparx helmet, although since I installed the windshield, I've still been tinkering to get the angle right. I don't know if I still don't have it, or if there is something about the shape of the helmet, but the last time I rode, I was getting some vibration that caused my vision to be blurred. I have made another adjustment, so I'll see how it is next time out.
How long did it take you to get your windshield positioned correctly?

How tall are you? I've got mine so there's about a fingers width gap between the headlight and the windshield, and it's raked back to about the same angle as the forks. With my bar/seat position it puts the top of the shield at about mouth height. I don't get any buffeting in that setup, and I'm assuming the air stream is going up and above my head because the upper vents in the helmet don't really do anything. I've experimented and with the screen off I can feel the breeze coming through the upper helmet vents. I would experiment with 1 thing at a time. Start with a bit of a gap between the headlight and screen, and if you start with the screen at the same angle as the forks it gives you a good starting point to judge future changes. I really like my helmet, I think SparX is an overlooked/under rated brand.

What are those? I don't think I've ever seen any like that on any 500/650 of any sort. Pretty nice looking!

Ha lol, Ya even some shoes would be good. It is immobile at the moment through so i dont think my feet are in any serious danger.
Thanks for re posting the pic! I finally figured out why it wasn't letting me.
As for my bike there are no mods at the moment but i have big plans for it. I would like to simply start with either a new seat or handle bars.
But before any mods i need to gett it running good again.

I built the AK. Still working on the bike. It has been my daily rider for 4-5 years now. Just got it into pieces tonight. My parts bike should arrive in about 8-9 hours. Wish me luck.

Finally feel like mines decent enough to post :) Still need to mount my '28 Model A taillight and I wanna get a more bobber-esque seat as well as raising the rear fender so it sits flush with the back of the seat.

Here's a pic of my GL with new bars, "new" tank and new inspection sticker! I was luck enough to find a tank in great shape that matched my color. Except for the handlebars, it's pretty much stock.

well here she is when i bought her.

this is my friends Harley, he left it at my house since he currently has nowhere to store it. Bad idea LOL. I still think that the cx is more fun to ride and much more practical. Unfortunately the Harley gets more attention :(

I like it better with the side covers.
The Speedo is off of an old CB400- it only cost $5 and it works just fine.
This is how I bolted the non-stock seat on (off of an old Kawa 175cc something or other trail bike).
Still trying to figure out what to do with this gap (and the resultant exposed blinker wires).
The rat's nest behind the headlight.

I believe you've got your engine guards upside down, and on the wrong sides. Unless I'm mistaken, they should attach at the upper rear engine hanger bolt and the upper front engine hanger bolt (behind the radiator.)
Two-point guards aren't particularly strong to begin with, and I could see these folding rather easily, possibly breaking the lug off the crankcase. I imagine they interfere with your shins, too.
Just my observation. Do what you want with it.

P.S. Nice paint, btw. I've always liked that rich, dark purple. (And no, I'm not a Vikings fan.)

Thanx. It is a rattle can home job that I'm pleased with EXCEPT the last can was a different purple (note the trunk cover). Darn you Duplicolor! I will redo that after the east coast monsoon ends this fall.

Nice !! I like the painted wheels (lester looking) I`m looking to do something like it on my 76 GL1000 but with a Hemi orenge color engine with a (either) plum purlpe or sublime body paint work.
