Group discount on Honda parts !!

Discounthondaparts.com has graciously given members of our board an additional 10% discount from their already competetive and discounted prices on OEM Honda parts. This discount along with their excellent shipping rates puts their pricing below anything else that I could find for OEM honda parts thus far. The intent is that you are registered to the forum and have ownership of a Honda CX or GL series motorcycle to make use of the discount
for parts for these motorcycles. Please read through the information in this opening post before placing an order.
Their parts ordering website uses the microfiche and is easy to navigate.

Their ordering microfiche is not set up to verify if a part is available, but if they are not available, you will be informed by them. The man offering the discount is named John. John has stated that since many of these parts are discontinued he
would be happy if we called him with part numbers to place orders. 1-800-955-2925 That way he could check to see if they're in stock or whether Honda even
still sells them. It would save the emails back and forth asking if you still want the items he does have in stock or whether to cancel the order, etc.
I think out of respect for both their and your own time, we should look up and write down the part numbers using their fiche systems before calling. When calling or emailing, you must YOU MUST MENTION THE WORDS CX 500 FORUM OR GL 500 FORUM. to receive the discount.
If you prefer ordering via the internet and waiting to see if the parts are available; after finding the part(s) needed simply add them to your cart, proceed to the checkout page and insert the code words"CX 500 Forum or "GL 500 Forum" into the "Order Comments" section in the bottom right corner of the order summary page.
When you receive your order confirmation
from John, the 10% discount will NOT be applied as that confirmation is mostly computer generated. When you receive your parts, the enclosed paid invoice will show the additional 10% Honda forum discount and your credit card statement should reflect that amount.
He first checks his own inventory at Honda of Riverhead (on long island) and then checks Honda supply inventory. But they cannot check other dealerships inventory like Ford Motor company or other Car parts people can sometimes do. Thus, if a part is listed as "unavailable" or discontinued it doesn't mean that it is not in stock in other dealers inventories. I'd suggest trying the largest and oldest dealers first such as Western Honda and/or Cernics in Johnstown. The code words Cx forum or GL
forum are manually recognized by their salespeople and the orders for CX parts are then passed to John himself; who oversees the website and must be one of the salespeople.
You can add the word "discount"; "Attention John"; or "Thanks John" and it will not throw off the process. I'd suggest the words CX Forum discount; Attention John, Thanks.

Update info:
When you receive your email confirmation from info@discounthondapart (and John) it will NOT have the 10% discount shown. The email response is usually computer generated and there is no way for John to subtract the discount. He does check for availability before releasing the "billing confirmation. However, when you receive your parts, the enclosed invoice will have the CX500 Forum discount and your CC should only be billed for that amount.
If any problems or discrepencies, let me or John know.
In addition to CX forum or GL forum, you could add the word "discount" and/or "Attention John": or Thanks, John
The discount is not computer activated, so the capitalization or the spacing of the words or the exactness of the words is not imperative. All cx forum discounts and orders for cx parts are channeled to and through Him.
Secondary info: John checks his own inventory and Honda's inventory, but there seems to be no way to check other dealers inventory through honda's network. If the part is unavailable, (such as the left side header pipe that was unavailable through several dealers) the only option seems to be to continue to put out orders or requests to other dealers. Thus far, I've not had that order rejected by Western Honda. Best success rate in getting discontinued items might be in the largest and oldest dealers. Such as Western Honda and/or Cernics of Johnstown, and or others.
John said he has processed several orders already. So feel free to post here with comments.

I got the discount exactly as described above. It showed up on the paper receipt in the box of parts.
I placed the order online on Sunday night and received the parts the following Saturday. For some reason, the automated email saying "your order has shipped" doesn't mean that it really left the store. Not the quickest delivery, but definitely not the worst either. I'll definitely be using them again.

I'm sure most who saw this posted originally forgot about it or couldn't find it. Since we don't have a search, maybe sticky it? I'll submit it to BlindS and see if he'll add it to the Reference info.

I've placed a couple of orders with them now and have been very pleased.
In addition to Honda factory parts they also carry some aftermarket parts. One example is a petcock rebuild kit - their price is the best I've seen on the 'net.

about a couple of months ago I purchased parts from --> http://www.cyclepartswarehouse.com
They do not charge tax, or at least they didn't charge me. they might if you live in AZ ot TX not sure tho.
Their parts seem to be cheaper than discounthondaparts.com but that's comparing them without the discounts.
With the discount dicounthondaparts.com may be the winner,but I guess it all depends on shipping charges
Also is there a "complete" triple-bypass parts list?
I wouldn't want to start a job like( which i have to do) without ALL parts that I might need. Waiting a week for Honda to deliver
would be less than satisfying.

Check your brick and mortar store too. My local Honda store got me pricing for cam chain/ rear cover r and r that was within $10 of discount honda, and I didn't have to pay shipping. If the difference is a couple bucks, I'd sooner support my local guy who always has filters and sparkplugs, and bearings, waterpump o-rings etc in stock and on hand.

What Abes Said, I always like to support the local economy first. I ask... and if they can't find, then I go to the web. I've been lucky with WCK Honda, when I needed new spark plug caps, they had a pair in stock. According to their list, they were NLA (no longer available) from Honda.
Moral?: You never know what they might have on their shelves. Check locally first.

About the dealer, the one in my city sucks, poor service, lack of knowledgeable staff , i could go on.... It's called Golden Gate Cycles and most people I know call it golden showers.
still i go there if i have to order just a couple of parts (they're very close to me) ,but boy oh boy I don't like it, i mean maybe some do like golden showers but not me, of course this is all IMHO.

Time for another bump, going to order this week, hope the discount still applies.
The ordering system/fiche seems to have been upgraded to a much easier format.

Been ordering from them for the last 5 years for OEM stuff. John is a nice guy, and the discount was valid a week ago when I got my last batch of odds and ends.
Need to get him to drop 10% for my 900 stuff too! Great folks to deal with.

It seams when they find a part to be "no longer available" they pull it off the list.
Not sure, but there are some things that you can't order because it isn't listed there, but is on other honda stores online.

As Panther said, it looks like they keep their site updated as parts become NLA. They seem to be one of the few doing this, most sites list everything, and then after you've gone to the trouble of ordering etc. THEN they tell you they don't have it.
