Hey SB, one of my favourites was Forrest Gump. IMO Tom Hanks is great in any movie!

Actually I saw it for the first time just a few months ago. I have a short attention span when it comes to most movies, I often don't make it past the first 45 minutes before going onto something else.
The Green Mile was one of the exceptions, I found just about every minute of that film interesting.
Is sky a satellite service?

hi george,yep,sky is a uk satellite service provider,we are on the outer fringe of its cover/signal,so we just have a bigger dish.
but when our weather is bad,the signal gets messed up,then for an evening in we revert to a film.and the green mile is one of my favorites,quite sad,but believable,set back in the deep south.
my wife still cant get over you getting the film on that clue[her idea].....so well done

I make my living in wholesale DVD & video Game Distribution(developing product knowledge you know). So watch a lot of movies. I'm not sure I could say Green Mile or Shawshank Redemption was the better movie?? They are both great.

Yes and not really being a Stephen King fan, who bought a collection of his short stories out of curiosity. I was surprized to read "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption".

Think the movie was good. Read the book. The first Steven King book I ever read was "Salem's Lot" and am still a big fan. I also agree Tom Hanks is great and if you notice like most great actors with class, no scandals.

"Wet the sponge" was from Silence of the Lambs. It is what the kidnapper said to the senator's daughter in the bottom of the pit.
Maybe I missed seeing the answer somewhere back at the beginning of this thread???

I am a little young to remember much of 1975, so I am going to google cheat on this: We had a problem with the last thread (top gun) with the year of the film, are you sure it was RELEASED in 1975 or is that Copyright date?
