11-23-2009, 8:38 AM phogroian Joined on 01-23-2009 Falls Church, VA USA Posts 95 Re: Posted CX500TC diagnosis filmstrip on Youtube Sorry, I'm going to re-shoot the whole thing soon.  I shot it all on one 30 minute file with my little Kodak easyshoot and it was too long for youtube to accept- it took forever to figure out how to break the file into smaller segments (used a friend's computer that has Quicktime Pro). Now I see its kind of cropped anyway.  If you need it right now drop me an email (phogroian at netzero.net and I will send you the entire file (big) via  yousendit.com.    Report

01-13-2010, 2:15 PM phogroian Joined on 01-23-2009 Falls Church, VA USA Posts 95 Re: Posted CX500TC diagnosis filmstrip on Youtube OK the rest is posted.  I reshot it and posted in 9 minute increments.  I may post the old repair video that Honda made for the service technicians, too.  You will need the patch cable, a multimeter ( have a few extras to lend) , a fuel pressure gauge, and  metered vacuum and pressure pumps.     Report

I also liked your presentation of the diagnostic kit on the end of the 4th movie, but it was rather dark. I have a kit but like most of them its missing its multimeter. I know any MM works but im trying to get it completely original again. Thanks in advance. Pressure pump/gauge 0-30 psi Multimeter Inspection Adapter (cable) Fuel pressure gauge 0-4 Kg per Cubic centimeter 2.9 mm feeler gauge. My kit came kit care instructions and a letter to the dealer stating that it was a required drop shipment to the dealer in accordance with a sales agreement, so every dealer got one at a special price, then had the option to buy additional ones at dealer net. I bet the first thing a service technician did when receiving and opening this kit was to swipe the multimeter out of it, since digital ones were pretty exotic in 1981. Check for color-to-color continuity between the pink, white, and green wires. If there is color-to-color continuity, the adapter is good. If not, remove the electrical tape from the female connector. Depress the tabs, pull out the pink and green wire terminals, and reconnect them in reverse. Retape the female connector. 1983 CX650 Turbo 1982 CX500 Custom Donating Member    Report

But it would be helpful if one of the owners of the wiring harness mentioned in the video could do me (and maybe some others) the favour and paint a wiring diagram, so hone could oneself to a homebrew harness. Spade connectors and resin and some wires should do, methinks... I would buy one from feabay, but they don't show up over here, since the Turbo was never officially imported here, and the shipping fees to my little island sucks... 02-08-2010, 8:48 PM showkey Joined on 03-02-2007 Northern IL Posts 70 Re: Posted CX500TC diagnosis filmstrip on Youtube The test harness is a nice collectable...but is not really needed to troubleshoot the system....the dealer never really used the harness when the bikes were newer.....all the multimeter reading can be made by carefully back probing the connectors in question. The back probing should be done with a special back probe sliding in the insulated rubber part of the connector not piercing the wires or insulation.
