OK,  Downloaded FIREFOX, like all of the other thousand replies stated..... Didn't hurt a bit to comply...

I've lurked here for the past two years... Didn't "Sign up" till yesterday.. I like it in here...

My 1979 CBX is my current project.. ZX9 forks, Kosman widened 1987 GSXR1100 wheels, Avon radial tires, modified GSXR1100 swingarm, Kerker headers with D&D cans..... The list is long.. Will be done by May..

Next project, that poor GL650 strapped onto the trailor..

Melchiro,
That CBX looks awesome, you are doing a fantastic job.
I know that this is a CX & GL Forum, but could you keep posting some progress pics on this please.
I want to see what it looks like when it is finished.
Thanks

I don't know what brand Trunk it is... I'm thinking a Hondaline?? This whole bike was taken apart the next day just to store it till the time comes for the makeover. I have a vision of what it will be, but we'll see.

That is not a Markland. It is a Home fabricated extender. I have made several of those things. Jon Gibson was selling them also. Anyone can do it, even a caveman. oops..any irate cavemen out there on CX's?

I would love to have that drive train mounted on La Cosa. Not to say the 650 isn't adequate, just that array of carbs is so impressive.

Hi melchiro, by "trunk extender" they are asking about what the trunk is actually mounted to, not the trunk itself.

Well, for a home fabricated extender, whoever did it gets around and is churning out twins one after another. I picked one up and had seen another.

Neat thing about this style is that the rear cowel stays in place.

Melchiro,

Just so you know ... you have a very special GL650 there. It has almost every factory option offered by Honda. In case you don't know that has AM/FM/CB/Intercom/cassette deck/instrument guage package mounted in the fairing. You also have the "remote" next to the clutch to operate a lot of these items.

To have it all factory is rare.

If you need any help or advice, please ask. We will all be willing to help in anyway we can.

David, Thanks for the info on that.. I have all of it boxed up for now.. Once the CBX is done, the GL650i will be next.. Although it will be nothing like any GL/CX around.. A clue to what it will be doing, Track Days!

I've never seen wheels like that, the ones on the GL650.....and dang, what a sweet CBX...beautiful, but boy oh boy I bet those carbs are a biatch to balance!

May the multitude of wheels in your head always control the two wheels between your legs.

THX Spanish Bandit... I am feeling good about the build..

ramprat06, the wheels on the GL, they are the stock 83 GL650I, cast aluminum.. The CBX carbs, I have not balanced them yet.. I bench synced them prior to install. Made sure that all 6 butterflies were even.. Revs up great and idles nice at 1000rpm..
