How much you pay for it? I found another CX that is sitting in the weeds in the same condition as yours... wondering how much to offer the guy

I just finished a front end rebuild, new fork seals, bushings, bearings, fender, tire and added a vintage horn and simplified the wire harness. I will be changing the control lever and throttle sets as money allows. Note the Mr. Ready Kilowatt guarding my battery, and a vintage amp meter mounted near the regulator and new ignition switch. I was going for a simplified old school look. I will have to add the signal circuits back eventually, I plan to run all wires inside the handle bars and tidy up the new fuse panel and ignition switch.

Forgot to mention I am building a 32' roadster grill to mount on the radiator.
6/20/2010 Just finished 10" solid struts to replace the shocks. Took it for a low ride around the block and it felt surprisingly soft, checked the tire pressure in the rear 10 psi (figures) Next springs under the solo seat and a solid steel rear fender. Notice I had to chop off the kick stand and next the center stand is coming off completely.

That's one hell of a horn you've got on there, how's it sound? Also that whole side panel control box is different, what all do you have going on in there and how'd you do it?

Vintage horn donated by me dad, yes it's LOUD! I used a horn relay to reduce the load on the horn button. The ignition control panel basically moves all tha wires from the front of the bike to the side panel with a fuse block behind the panel. I simplified the whole harness, sliced it wide opened and stripped it out till I had 2 wires going to the front of the bike, (Headlight and horn) and 2 to the rear (Taillight and brake). I did not touch the stator, regulator or cdi circuits except to re locate the connectors down behind the battery. Rusty

That horn looks like a deluxe bug catcher. If it ever isn't working take a look inside the front of it and make sure it isn't full.

I might add a speedo but really I could live with out. Makes things simple. I'm not satisfied with the location and look of the horn but you have to admit it's different. Rusty

I had dual air horns on my old CX. Had them mounted on the signal stems with the compressor mounted where the stock horns were in a piece of black tube. Loud as hell. Bugs were not a problem but rain and vibration was. An air horn full of water is not loud as hell. And the cheap little brackets fractured within the first 20 miles, leaving the horns hanging by their hoses. I've got another set but I haven't decided to mount them on the GL.
I see a Roadtrek behind your bike there. My wife used to work for them a few years ago here in Kitchener. Nice little vans. They're doing Sprinter conversions now too.

Just picked her up on Thursday, my first bike. Rode 45 miles home, rode around town the next day for work and getting registration. Been raining since then. Battery is dead this morning :(

Haven't been on here in a long time.. glad to see Chopper Charles is still hosting the forums for everyone. Looks like a lot has grown in six years!

Found out the site we used to post updates is still up and running here.

Well I have been at it again, I stopped working on the custom I have and decided to work on my deluxe. Ended up taking the grab bar and back rest off the custom and putting it on my deluxe, then I had to swap the seats over, since the deluxe is wider and doesn't let the back rest mount. So I found a Harley seat on ebay, totaled less then $20 shipped, and here it is, still need to mount the seat and finish mounting the fender and grab bar.

I think I need a different tank or will have to trim the seat down a bit to fit just right. I was thinking about getting a Honda shadow tank with the gauges on the tank, I saw a bike on here with one and I think it looks great. Just have to find one with the gauges still attached and for a reasonable price.
I also am looking for some saddlebags for it as well.

I think the tab is custom, It was on the sidestand when I got it but the sidestand wasn't on the bike as the mount had ripped off the frame. Sounds great, here's a video from an on board cam, this was a little while ago but with these pipes etc.

And a couple more pics
