Redskin,
I know there are members in Colorado. The ones I know are in Denver. If nothing else join the BMW riders in the area at the BMW rallies. Brand X bikes are always welcome as long as neither the bikes nor their owners are not extremely loud.
You would be a hit of the rally being there on an older, non-BMW bike. Be ready for strangers walking up to you and saying, "I used to have one of those." The conversation will continue from there, I am sure.
For a list of all the BMW rallies go to this web site. Go back from time to time as more rallies will probably added as the riding season progresses. http://www.bmwmoa.org/calendar/all/full
BMW rallies are th kind that you can take your mother or grandmother to and never be embarrassed.

Do they sell any other bikes in Colorado besides BMW and Harleys. The last time I was out there for a week and that's all I saw riding the roads.

Don,
There are all kinds of off road bikes sold out there for mountain riding. Some of the off road bikes are BMW, but they are a real handful in off road riding.
A friend of mine had his GS1200 BMW last exactly 1 trip of off road mountain riding and his insurance company totaled the the bike when he got back home. It may have had something to do partially with the hole in the engine for the rocks.

Well I just got back from overseas...(loads of Fun, NOT) and was wondering if any of the folks in Colorado would want to meet up. I have a pretty long ride scheduled for May gonna try and take a month off...Gonna use the HD for that, I have the leave saved up... There is an ADV rally in July I've been looking at attending on the CX. Be my first season to try and do any real rally attendance type stuff.
Well as for the HDs and BMWs here in Colorado....David is right they have a lot of off road stuff here in the mountains (not my thing) But you have to remember we have alot of military bases in Colorado..( 5 in Colorado Springs, 1 in Denver) too. Soo Soldiers and Airman come home from Deployment with a alot of money and they go out and Buy a new HD or some High Speed Sport Bike. Which is what I did, wanted a nice long haul bike so I went and got an HD.... my CX is gonna be for mountain twisties and daily commute to Post. Thanks for all the input. Been looking at joining the VFW Warriors here also...I figure they will have alot of stuff going on this year too. On a side note...the Stealership that I got my HD from is a BMW and HD dealer....

RedSkin12b - I lived in the Springs for 10 years back in the 70's after I ETS'd from Carson. Worked as a mechanic at Alpine Suzuki (South Nevada) with the guy that owns Action cycles. My favorite ride and place to hang out and meet other bikers, was North Cheyenne Canyon Road. Used to "match race" my 850 Norton Commando there on the downhill run.
There used to be a place called Betty's Chicken Shack in Manitou. I heard it's just called Betty's Place now. That was the unofficial HQ for the SOS back then. Ride up Manitou Ave and if you see a whole bunch of HD's parked out front, that's the place and things haven't changed much in 35 years!!
