I just wanted to say early on this year that I'm NOT gonna open my big mouth this year and predict that my beloved Royals will be better like I did last year.... They made me feel like an idiot. I was watching that game vs the Saints and JUST KNEW, I MEAN GUARANTEED MY FAMILY that Farve would blow it and throw a pick and sure enough !! That's the Bret Favre I'm used to seeing. He's had a great career yes, BUT I swear the guy has made as many BONE HEAD plays in his career as he's made good ones. I too was laughing because I've lost respect for the guy over the last 2 years...but at the sametime I felt bad for the Vikings simply because they really out played the Saints in that game....it was ALL ON PRETTY BOY, ATTENTION SEEKING FARVE !!! It had to be like DE JA VU (sp ?) for Packer fans watching that cuz didn't he end his career with the Packers by throwing a PICK to lose the NFC Championship game against the Giants 2 years prior ?? Anyhow, I originally thought the Vikings getting Favre was all about selling tickets and jerseys, that he'd play half a quarter to please the fans, then they'd put in the real quarterback But, I became a huge Bret fan. The guy is an amazing quarterback. In addition to his great football knowledge and ability he had the leadership to galvanize and motivate the team. I was very impressed with the guy. But then there was that last few minutes of the last game..... argh! Now everyone up here is all abuzz about what he's going to do next year. I think the Royals are much tougher on us 40's something and up people because unlike the younger people, we DO know what it's like to have WINNING baseball and how great it IS/WAS back in the 70's-80's when they were really good every year if not winning their division at least being very competitive. From 76 thru 85 the Royals won 6 division titles, were in 2 World Series and then of course won the second one they were in in 1985. During a stretch from 1975 thru 1990 I think they never finished worse than 2nd in the division..... There are a thousand sports channels. No program should ever have to take a back seat to some dumb game. When I was a kid I had trouble sleeping.
