03-05-2010, 9:31 PM lucky Joined on 03-06-2009 kingman az age 26 Posts 1,443 cops well guys i am on standby for work which means they call me at home at tell me were to go well i get a call to goto an address no problem so i pull up to the cross street and pull next to the cop that has the street blocked off (both ends were shut down with chopper flying over head) and tell him i have to pick up at 4370 and then the cop replys no can do buddy thats the address were at right now and theres a stand off going on.......no one in no one out so yea kinda fun ( thats the kind of stuff i will miss when i quite this job)i radio my dispatch and tell him whats going on and he tells me to jet outa there and go back home so thats were i am at now writing this to all you guys just thought i would share some of the joys of driving a cab 1982 honda cx500c 1979 honda xr185 dirt bike If you can read this thank a TEACHER If you're reading this in ENGLISH thank a SOLDIER http://globalcxglvtwins.hostingdelivered.com/    Report

And they cant come from individuals like you or me they have to come from registered companies. Did they expect the cab to pull up and just leave in it with all the police around? lol. I'll respond to your complaints for fun. 1- I have also been in a situation where someone tried to rob me. Guy demanded my money whilst pulling a syringe out of his bag. I was lucky the car was stopped and I just jumped out of the vehicle before he had a chance to think. No injuries thankfully. Every situation is different. 2- Taxi drivers do not get enough respect for the situations we are put in....You have to be on your toes all the time....Keep your head on your shoulders. 3- Crappy cars are part of the game. Stick with it and you might get a nice one. Customers can be fooled into thinking its a nice car by keeping it clean. 4-Try the other companies till you find your niche. 5- Being a taxi driver means being frugal with your money. You can either drive faster or work more hours, not many other options than that. Also about being home on your down time...Do they not suggest you drive around the malls/grocery stores/bars looking for random customers (street orders is what we call them here)? 1982 CX500 custom    Report
