Hopefully the times were simple and not us old guys. I suspect that's what you meant, right Don?
Every Saturday night was Lawrence Welk. Every Sunday night was Bonanza.

Whenever I see the Elmer Fudd commercial on tv I think that there's a whole generation of kids who don't know who the hell elmer or bugs or yosemite sam are, they've missed out on the muppets and the classic adam west batman. Sad.

Bugs Bunny was on before Lawrence Welk. I knew that if Larry was on, I had missed Bugs.....
My grandfather had to be home every Sunday night to watch Ed Sullivan. I remarked to my older brothers that he must have had a stroke when the Beatles and Stones came on. They said yes....

I love Me TV, Me Too and another classic station in my area. Everything from the Honeymooners to Married with Children. And yes, they even play Mork and Mindy on Sundays. It's also cool to get into shows that I've never seen before like the Rifleman.
I'm also a cartoon fanatic. Cartoon network used to be great and was the main reason I got satellite 15 years ago. It went down the crapper so I got an extended package that included Boomerang which was great for a few years and then it tanked. When they did play classics they were all butchered. Sorry but the housekeeper on Tom and Jerry did NOT have an Irish accent back in the day and I want to see Bugs play head games with Yosemite Sam by doing his stepin fetchit routine! Also no more Speedy Gonzales...don't want to hurt any feelings so ban every episode. Canceled my satellite service last summer and haven't missed it for a second. Seems that everything is on DVDs these days and dirt cheap. Recently added a box set of 600 classic cartoons from about 1919 to the 1960s, Pink Panther and Danger Mouse box sets with every episode ever made. Also working on the old Hanna Barbera collection. Good stuff!

WAY back then, we folks also had something the younger generations seem to have never discovered, it was call 'attention span'.
For all you 'youngsters' out there, Attention Span is a mythical term meaning the ability to stay focused on something for longer than 15 seconds without further stimulation. Jump cuts in video were not yet invented, and TV dramas actually told stories with actors speaking in greater than 3 second shots on camera.
A stunningly simple concept, long gone.

I remember well the days when I could go to the movies for a dime, pay 10 to 15 cents for popcorn and have a great time on a quarter! Hoppy and Flash (not Flesh) Gordon every Saturday, sometimes Roy or Gene were on too. Usually there were at least 2 or 3 Looney Tunes too! I am old but by golly I'm glad I got this far, I'm hanging on to finally skid in and say "Man, what a ride!" Gene

Before my time, when men were men and the women were glad of it.
They were actually RIGHT about lard, mostly monounsaturated, which is healthier than saturated fat. It's now known to be better than the synthetic substitute shortenings.
Seems like a better way to get your daily vitamins than today.

I won't touch this one with a 9 inch pole.

The old timers were simple, all they needed was a nice bowl of lard washed down with vitamin beer, a couple tape worms to aid digestion, a nice smooth fag followed by a cigarette and douche.

It is way before my time, but I am a huge fan of Tom and Jerry, The A-Team, and The Munsters!

My wife checked out the old Flash Gordon series from the library's DVD collection. We really enjoyed watching them again. I remember watching then at the Sat Matinees in the 50's. $0.15 provided 3 hours of space, western and detective serials, Popcorn for a dime. I really miss those days.
Simple? I think the word you were searching for is "uncomplicated."

I`m say with pride: i dont see TV! Violence, stoopid humor, too much sex (if i wanna it, i can make (still? ;) in my bed)..... I dont know: or I'm very old? I`m like "King Kong", "SpiderMan", "American Beauty", "Route 66"..... Old and good (IMHO) movie...
