Relocating Rear Turn Signals
Reply Quote
I searched through past posts, but didn't find exactly what I was looking for. Have any of you moved your rear turn signals more "rear"? At least with the Deluxe the rear signals are almost even with the rear of the seat, and there's still a good 6 inches or so of space to the rear brake light. I want to get some larger saddlebags and those signal stalks are really limiting in what will mount well. I don't want hard bags so I'm not looking to replace the signal stalks, just move them back a little more. Pictures would help a lot if you've done it.

Surprised you didn't find a thread about this. I could have swore we talked about it so much we nailed it to the wall.

The options are to modify the bracket that holds the brake light to relocate your turn signals there. Buy the Cb--- tail light bracket that is identical to ours but already has it like the one I just explained. Or to get the cheap angle iron bracket that bolts to the plate to put them there.

I'll find more details for you.

Thanks for the quick search Stitch. I'd read that one post but wanted to find out if there was any other easier and/or less expensive alternatives. I was just checking the shop manual and I have a couple vague ideas I might try. If I went with the enitre CB assembly I'm wondering how and where I'd attach that. I need to check out my rear cowl in detail, but the shop manual makes it look like the rear brake light and plastic cowling are all 1 piece, so the CB assembly may not work for the Deluxe. My wife is going to buy me new saddlebags for our anniversary, so I can't check the exact fit I'll need but I'm going to make a cardboard model of the saddlebag dimensions. I'll take some pics if I think of something else.

Oh yeah I forgot. It's a deluxe. Go with the license plate bracket.

It wouldn't take that long to fabricate one.

Here's a different bracket but the above would look like this.
