Seats, Seats, Seats.

Well, the seat pan on my CX5 Custom is rotted to hell. it will take some work to patch it back together, then i will need to recover it.
I dont know weather to find a different seat and recover it, or fit a different seat entirely.

I would like to fit a different seat, but I want to change as little on the bike as possible. It has to be a dual seat, and obviously if i am going to bother with the change, it has to be more comfortable.

Let me also say, that i cannot stand the look of a seat like this or anything like it with lines. SEAMS are fine, but those recessed lines that form something that look like little pillows is absolutely atrocious.  I like the smooth look, much like the current, albiet disintegrating cover currently on my bike.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what direction to take?
as for all the crazy code all over the bottom of the post, i dunno what it is, but it doesnt show up when i go to edit the post.vjo.dsf.error.ErrorHandlerManager.register(new vjo.dsf.error.DefaultErrorHandler()); vjo.dsf.error.ErrorHandlerManager.enableOnError();

You only options without going nuts is to find a replacement cx custom seat or go with the
dyna wide glide seat like a few of us have. The dyna pan is plastic and easy fit to the cx.

Here's the picture of your seat that you don't want. Cant you delete that big mess of what ever that is screwing up the page.

What is your price objective? Corbin comes to mind... but some serioud $'s might be involved. They have been around and may have done one before.

Blindstich may have the most cost effective answer here.

Try to just delete the picture and see what happens.

Have your existing seat re-foamed and re-covered in normal vinyl. Makes a world of difference, and just bolts back on the bike.
You could have the foam "tailored" to your size/shape and will last you for years, as did the first one. If that's original, then the foam is probably 30 years old!!!

If you're still in control...You're not going fast enough.

That was my first plan, but the seat pan itself is rotted away in multiple places.

I ended up building a custom fiberglass pan for mine, and building a seat from scratch.   Cost me ~$30, and gained quite a bit of new knowledge :)

again the seat pan is severely rotted out. (metal structure of the seat)

i wanted to get a nice cover off Ebay. but for the money of recovering a replacement seat, i can get a nice Dyna seat, up the comfortabilty, and not get too involved.

Sorry, my bad. Must have read your post with only one eye open.
Yes, the Dyna seat will do the trick.
