Experience with Bar End Mirrors?
|
|
|
|
|
So for any of you who have used bar-end mirrors, how do you like them? I'm mainly wondering if they vibrate more or less than standard mirrors, and if you find they interfere with your hands at all?

Been there, just put the factory stuff on there and tighten them down.

So you had bar-ends and didn't like them? Reasons?

I have 3 bike all with bar end mirrors. I really like the style of them and they work good. the only possible drawback is having to look away from the road to see in the mirror.
I don't mind that too much I'm usually texting when riding anyway....

Love them, work really well with my clubmans but yep, you do need to glance away from what's ahead. Not really a problem though for me.

Guess I'm old school, always liked the factory placement no matter of how they stick up into the wind.

Thinking about a pair of these bar end mirrors for Maggie - my '78 - along with a lower bar (from the same web site) .
I want to keep the maggot fairing and saw the european (english) bikes with a small fly screen bolted on; a small plastic screen that goes over the clocks and dash. Probably put my boots on the rear pegs and try it out for comfort.

On most bikes I owned, the stock mirrors worked great except on a Suzuki SV650. Since I am "wider" than many of the young people riding this type of bike, I was looking at half of my shoulder in the stock mirror. Installed Napoleon bar end mirrors and they worked well. Planning on bar end mirrors on the CX500 Cafe Racer. Here is the SV650:

PO had installed a pair of H-D chrome mirrors with short stalks. He
actually put the right one through the bolt hole for the front brake
lever(!), as the mirror mount hole looks a bit stripped. Something else
to be double-checked and remedied.
On my CB360, I have the usual looking mirrors appropriate for this
model. I have to shift my body to one side to get a good look right
behind me, so having outboard mirror mounts would be nicer. And I am not
a "wider" model, either!
