Another possible new CX500T owner

I suppose I should introduce myself-name is Chris and I hail from sunny PalinLand, under the midnight sun. Recently, I sold a BMW GS that I was tired of making payments on and found I had some money left over. Can't have that, can we? And oddly enough, a CX500T, a bike that has been on my Desert Island Top 10 list comes up on Craigslist. 18,5xx miles, $2250 or best offer. I had a look at it this evening, and found a bike in good mechanical condition that has been stored inside for as near as I can tell its whole life. It started easily and idles fine, no flashing lights or buzzers or bells, charging output is 13.8 to 13.9, the oil looked good, tires are good but may need replacement due to age, I couldn't find the date code on them. Cosmetics were not really great. The fairing is pitted and slightly dinged, the pipe cover on the right side has a wrinkle, the left side cover is cracked, and the right side of the windshield is also cracked. The air suspension was holding air. I found out I knew a bit of history on the bike. It was owned by a guy who was the biggest fan of the turbo bikes ever-I had bought a bike from him several years back (Alaska can be a small world) and he showed me his collection of turbos, CX500 and 650, Kawasaki 750, Suzuki, Yamaha Seca, some with multiple examples of each. He would find a bike and then if he found a better example, he'd buy that and then sell his bottom bike, and this bike was basically his "reject". It is still in better shape than the last one I looked at. It isn't in the cosmetic shape I was hoping for but that can be addressed. These bikes are pretty hard to come by here in the 907 so if this one gets away, it could be who knows how long before I find another. My skill level will allow me to address any problems, even the dreaded stator, although I probably wouldn't like it. Any ideas as to what offer I should make? Any other thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Are the fork tubes pitted? How are the brakes- binding at all? It is likely that a member here has extra side covers, and Gustafsson (http://www.bikescreen.com/products.asp?cat=84&pg=9) makes replacement windscreens in different tints and heights. As with any bike, consider how much you will likely spend on the bike to get it to your standard of restoration when you make your offer.
