Gearshift Spring

In taking off the rear case I messed up the gear shift spring....

Item 14
PN 24623-415-000
I was able to reform it back but it's got two turns on it that are about 1/8 sprung away from the main coil. In searching some of the sites for parts it looks like it might be discontinued.
Anybody got any ideas were to get a suitable replacement?
Also, this is my first time inside the rear cover. How are the Item 12 ARM, GEARSHIFT 24610-415-000 and Item 13 SPINDLE, GEARSHIFT 24620-MC7-010 supposed to go back together, anybody got a picture?

The 2 teeth of #12 sit inside the 3 teeth of #13. I can snap a pic later for you if you need (I've got a CX engine apart here)
That said, check to see if the part number of the spring is the same as the part number for the standard CX. It looks the same, lol!

Doward, Stopped at a local custom motorcycle shop where I get the bike safety inspected every year, the guy took a look at the spring and asked what was wrong with it. Took out a similar spring (thicker wire) and noted the two loops of the coil that I thought was supposed to be snug against the rest of the coils where not supposed to be that way... Looks like the spring is OK. Back to putting the bike together....
New stator installed, made a gasket for the breather cover, that's back together already, next is the mech seal of the water pump... Just got to press it in. All the other seals on the rear cover already replaced. Cam chain and tensioner looks OK, not that I know what I'm looking for, bikes got 24K on it. On the other side of the curve, putten stuff back together :-)
So the two teeth of #12 fit center with the thee teeth of #13, right...
So, I know I'm supposed to check that that it's shifting before I torque rear cover bolts. Can someone give me a short step by step on how to do this with the engine out? I've done some searching and reading but I'm not clear on how to go about it.

I just set the back cover on, and then put the shifter on and make sure it's shifting.
It's really easy for that #12 piece to get pushed down behind the #13, and then nothing shifts properly, so you do want to be careful!
What I do, is set the engine so the rear is facing up in the air, prep everything to get bolted down. Set the rear cover on the engine, and slowly work it down on the dowels / engine output shaft / cooling pipes from the water pump.
VERIFY ENGINE WILL SHIFT
Then bolt it all down.

Doward, Thanks, I got the cover on and the water pump. Seems to shift OK. Called it a night. Well on my way :-)
