I go to the Quaker Steak and Lube here once in a while. It's two blocks from my house. In the summer they draw a couple of hundred people on bike night. We'll probably have to wait until march or so. They even pull up YouTube videos that sound like a Jetson car. I'm hoping to have my GL completely stripped, and the frame dropped of at the powder coaters by the second week in January. If I can keep on task (a difficult thing for some of us) the engine tear down will begin the day after the frame is dropped off. If all goes well the bike will be back together by spring for a trip to QSL. If you ever make it to Columbus to visit the Iron Pony let me know. Funny you should post that, I was just going to post a thread asking if anyone was going to that. I think I am going to , since I can get in free from work (I think, I work for progressive insurance and I think we are sponsoring it or something like that.) A run to QS might be fun, its on the way (sorta) to my brother, who lives in Marysville, so if it worked out that I could go visit him  the same weekend, then I might be in. My first bike was a 78 CX500 that I bought new 32 years ago. I was stationed at Rapid City South Dakota at the time and never had a problem with it. A Vetter Windjammer IV was added in late 78 after a nasty hit by several yellow jackets that refused to die. They decided it would be more fun to sting the evil human until they were shown the respect one with stingers were due. It's very hard to look cool for the sweetie on the back when your running 80mph on I-90 while thumping your chest. When I separated from the Air Force and moved back to Ohio in 81 the bike started rusting in less then a month. Four years in the Dakotas with 0 rust. 30 Days in Ohio and rust. With the bike rusting, and a family on the way I sold it to keep the wife happy. 29 years later the kids are grown, we are still married, and I bought another twisted twin.  Fun times! 1982 GL500 Interstate Project Bike. 2005 Suzuki S50 (VS-800) Daily Rider. We have more than three feet of snow, can't wait for it to warm up a bit and maybe sneak in a ride. I will be riding it back and hopefully the weather is cooperative. I could have had it today but I forgot the paperwork. Grrr. I just noticed you are not too far from me. It is a 2 1/2 hr ride to the Quaker Steak & Lube in Columbus but I will be out there on the 7th. Should get there about 4ish. Hope to see some of y'all there.
