Firat time in public on this forum. Looks like a great group! Picked up a GL500I this past weekend (first bike in 20 years), and am glad to have this amount of support and help as I baseline it and get back into riding.
So, a technical question or two to start off. Q1: The washer between the spring on the filter bolt and the cartridge is missing. Any recommended type (material and thickness) of washer for a replacement?
Q2 (a little harder): The by-pass valve in the filter bolt appears to be frozen. I haven't put much muscle into moving it, yet. Is there an easy way to unstick it?
