HTTA at BRMC May 5&6... getting stoked!

This weekend I am getting my Silverwing ready for the trip down to NC. I got a new rear tire and I will be putting that on, changing the oil and filter, cleaning the air filter and adjusting the valves. My Dunlop Elite II has run its course of over 20,000 miles, and the tread is getting a mite thin, I can't complain. The new tire is a Bridgestone Spitfire S11 which matches my current front tire. I will be packing some food since the restaurant is closed this season at the BRMC, so I'll be bringing my cooking gear along with my tent and sleeping bag.
I am riding down to Phil's Thursday (on I81 and I77...500 miles of ............................), and riding together to the rally on Friday, probably on the Parkway, about 190 miles or so of curvy scenic joy. This trip will be a good test of a new adjustable double windshield system I have installed on the 'Wing. If you wanna see it ya gotta be there! I am also bringing my home cooked heated gear, I might need it. Looking forward to this trip, I need it. See Ya

Sounds great! Double windshield?? I have to get some pictures of that! Glad you are going to accompany Phil on the initial voyage of his new trike. I don't think anything will fall off but he may run out of gas. Charles will be at the camp on Thursday, I will probablly get in mid day Friday. They still plan to have pizza on Friday night at the camp. Also, they will have coffee, sausage & biscuits in the mornings. They will be furnishing grills at the camp sites. Gene

Where are you intersecting I-81?
I-70?
If you get tired of the slab, Rt 11 parallels 81 most of the way. Staunton, Va is a cool town and worth a drop through. Same with Lexington, Va.

I pick up I81 on my way down I78 around Fort Indiantown Gap PA and stick with it for 370 miles to I77 south. I have taken the Turnpike over to Harrisburg and then down but the northern route is a lot less traffic a better road fewer tolls and quicker from my place. I have also taken 11 a few times, but I don't want to take two days to get to Phil's. See my PM TonyG

As of a month ago, the only construction area that I hit on 81 was right around Harrisburg just below the turnpike.
