I want to take this opportunity to invite everyone to upcoming BMW rallies. BMW Rallies are family events. There is no need to worry even if you invite your mother or your three year old.
I especially want to invite those in the mid-west to the two rallies listed below.
The
MN Rally is at Money Creek, MN in the southeast corner of the state.
That rally is the 1st weekend of June.
The 2nd weekend if June
has a rally at Middle Amana, IA. The Amana rally is the last BMW rally in the USA that still has free beer 24 hours a day. That said you won't see anyone acting drunk in spite of the fact the beer is free. Everyone take their riding too seriously to get plastered.
Both of these rallies includes
camping, bands, dinners, rally mugs and pins. There are some great rides
in MN and there are really neat things to see in the Amana Colonies.
To
see more details go to this page and look it over. Just click the name
of the rally and the details pop up. http://www.bmwmoa.org/calendar/all/full
Any
brand of bike is welcome at these rallies as long as you obey the rules
and your pipes aren't too loud.
Come join me and maybe we can
do another group ride or two.

I've been attending the BMW Rallies in MN as well as the Moto Guzzi Rallies in Iowa, MN and Wisconsin, all fun and very welcoming since I show up every year on everything but the brands doing the sponsoring. Great people and lovely riding areas.
Heading to the Hiawatha BMW Rally (70 miles from home) tomorrow morning.

Coop,
Look for me wearing a red or black HTTA shirt & hat. I will try to camp at the top of the hill as rain is predicted.
Send me an email and I will send a photo of me so you can recognize me.

Huh! I have a free weekend, maybe I'll hit up the Pemi River Campout at the start of Laconia Bike Week.
I've heard the CX/GL engine described as "like a BMW boxer, but a lady, and she's picking up her skirts to cross a puddle". Maybe that accounts for the warm welcome

I have heard GL/CXs called Baby Beemers several times due to the shaft drive and the fact that a lot of BMW owners had one before they got their BMWs.
Pete,
I heard that it is a good rally even though the crowd a Laconia itself can get pretty rowdy.

Yesterday when I blew my main fuse due to a short two Beemers pulled over and offered to help as they admired my bike. To bad I didn't find the exposed wire then instead of having to truck the bike home.

Sorry to hear you had problems ... Beemer riders tend to be like that ... to everyone except Harleys ... it takes too long to backtrack and find the parts that drop off a Harley
