Hey Lucky,
I have a NOS right side cover decal for the 'cosmo black'. It's not for sale, but I'd gladly scan it and send it to you via e-mail.
If you have somebody local, that could print on vinyl, and do the artwork to 'create' the left side - it would be great.
The guy I found (in Sarnia) said that CB Decals price is pretty good... he couldn't do it for less.

Hey Don scan it and send me a copy and if possible lay a ruler next to it on the scanner so there are dimensions. Then I can do the flop and put them up on the drop IO.
Lucky it needs to be more than mirrored. If it's only mirrored the text will be backwards. But a simple cut and paste and I could put it in the right spot.

Actually it's 12:36 here and it's most likely 1:36 where Don (cxSarnia) is. He may be working the late shift but I'm not sure. Someone has to watch the ore boats as they pass between detroit and port huron.

I bought some GoldWing "Helmet Decals" (peel & stick)(3pcs 7" long for $7, free shipping) from this guy to use as tank logos when I paint Mr.Honda and then asked him about plain "HONDA" ones to replace the ratty looking plastic logos. He charged me $6 US including shipping for 4 pcs HONDA 7" long and 4 pcs HONDA 3" long.
http://stores.ebay.com/Flipsidegraphix
I haven't been able to apply any of them yet, but he supplies excellent instructions, communicates well and ships fast.

Well I finally found a box to fit the tank and have it all packed up. To bad I have to wait till Monday to send it out to Larry. But at least I'm making progress.

Well the tank is on its way as of yesterday and including the weight of the box and packaging material it weighed 11 pounds 12 ounces. I should have probably sent it faster but I went cheap and for $16.70 it's going snail speed with USPS.
I hope it makes it there in one piece.

I had to take a double look at what the hell you were talking about. Damn I can't even tell that you monkeed with the picture. It looks really good.
I've been thinking about the gas cap with locking mechanism. Your going to keep all that right? The Australian super tank didn't have the locking mechanism. and it seemed the cap was more recessed in the tank.

I'm sitting here LMAO. Your so bored you can't stand it. Now your even trying to butter me up....lmao Hay I just had an idea! I could always put some gas in the tank and set a match to it. BOOM it's bigger now! Hmmm, no, that's been tried already huh!
Are you going to post the picture's of the process here or are you going to start a new thread?

Either here or in a new one in the custom section because there they would be stuck in the forum forever. Until then I'll be dreaming here.
If the match job would still fit on the frame I would be all over it. Maybe even do it twice.

OK Don, It's here. I love the use of the mountain dew bottles to take up the space in the box. That's cool. Your tank got here just at the same time that the heads got done for that ford I'm doing. Give me a few days and I'll start looking at it when I can get my sons CX custom back over here.

I'm sure this will end up being a blow by blow illustrated project Joel. The problem will be how long it takes to get started on it.
I will recycle the bottles after my son gets done calling them toys! LOL He saw them when I opened the box and begged to have them so he could build things with them.
I'll get on this project as soon as I can Don. Once I start I'm sure it will be addicting like everything else.

Learned today that the later 81-82 12 liter tanks are a better base to use because they have flatter bottoms on the sides.
Drawback is stock coils have to be relocated because of the tanks smaller inside.
81-82 on the left and 79-80 on the right.

There's a company that has exact repro decals for all our bikes, can't recall the name but what I got looked exactly Honda.
Search a bit for me folks, they're out there.
I didn't need the ones for the side covers but they were glad to sell me a full tank set, really nice people.

No need to search, here's the company:

They have more than they're willing to admit to. May yet be another of our pains with copyright deals.

I thought their website said they didn't have custom tank decals. Well either way I don't think I want any decals on my bike besides the ones on the engine, clutch cover, and forks. If anything I might have to make a decal that says Larry Special because that's what it is turning in to.

This probably sounds really stooopid, but it's been buggin' me for a long time. Having had a nice look inside the tank via the great pix above, I am just plain dumbfounded as to how the fuel gets from the right side of the tank over to the petcock position? I realize pix are 2 dimensional and all that jazz, but the logic just isn't finding the way to my fuzzy head yet. Please put this old farts mind to rest and explain how this works.
