This posting is going downhill ... so I thought I would contribute to it.

I have seen Gene after a big meal and I know he is a big Whizzer fan! (or is that a fan of a big whiz???)

The Canadian seems to leave the party just when it is getting started!

Gene needs to post some more photos of that model train layout to get the three wheeled Canadian to the Amish Rally.

Come on Keith, you're not even a "real" Canadian, let alone an "ordinary" one, are you?  I can hardly understand you through your English accent, so methinks you are an imposter!  There are notable past and present CX/GL Canadian contributors though (real Canucks who sound like Canucks when they speak ).  SideCar Bob and The Mayor come to mind.  It's just that they are from not so far away, they don't have that foreign mystique, they didn't have to sail an ocean for days to get here.  Really Keith, it's not personal, but you just don't measure up.  Eh?  You are lovable though, in a weird sort of way.  Hope to see you in 2010!

Note to self..................Remind me to get a bunk as far away as possible from Rich at the 2010 Amish Rally...........

Maybe it's time to round up the Canadian crew (Sidecar Bob, John A and others) for a mass invasion at the Amish 2010.....

David, Are you referring to the Schempp model train collection at the Lycoming County Historical Museum? http://www.tabermuseum.org/trains.asp

Well, that's a nice display of cabinets with a couple of layouts but if you are coming to Williamsport, this is the place you want to see: http://www.dagusandrockwood.com/
He is having an open house on Dec 28th. If I can squeeze in, I'll ask him about the possibility of a viewing in August for those of us interested. Also, the Kast Hotel, a few blocks south of the above also has a running display.

I've got a '92 Pan-Euro and agree about it being an Evolution GL.  I had to renew the swingarm, and was amazed how similar to a Silverwing.  Its a great bike, but not much character,  so I was going to sell it but have decided to use it during our cold wet UK winter   Heres a pic of when I did the swingarm, you can see how similar the construction is.  I bought the replacement swingarm from SafariCycle in California, excellent, honest service and quick delivery. Would recommend them.

My 2000 ST1100 delivered 54 miles per gallon at today's fill up. This tank full included the Saturday Amish Rally ride to the Grand Canyon of PA, where I was trying real hard to keep it under 60 MPH (for Phil). I have a new rear tire so that must have helped. The most I ever got on my 78 CX500 or 83 GL-650I was 55mpg.

I dont see that as much of a justification really
the ST is a good bike (we call em Pans over here btw)
but its horses for courses
I also have a BMW K100RS with RT fairing and bars
hell of a bike for the big ride, will cruise at 100mph all day long.
Trying that would kill my CX, thats how I snapped a crank on a previous one
the beemer gives slightly better mpg on steady run too.
But, my CX is lighter and much more agile about the town and smaller roads
and easy to maintain too.
Its also fun! as its a cheap, crappy, happy bike I can do anything to without affecting its
already low value
It isnt just a local shopper, I've done 200mile+ days out on it quite happily

they're both reliable with their own characteristics and good and bad points
and I enjoy riding both.

maybe we could get "Sidecar Bob" to come south of the border!

As much as I would like to get to the Amish one year, it won't be 2010. I'm not even sure if my hand will be up to driving an outfit to Ottawa in time for the rally (or the CURD rally in Durham Ont a couple of weeks later), let alone that far.

Besides, our youngest daughter is getting married this year and every time I turn around Kay tells me about something else we have to spend hundreds of $ on while I'm on 55% Employment Insurance benefits.
I swear if they introduce me to a little guy named Franck I won't wait to punch him.....

Yeah. The last time Canadian troops came down there uninvited all you had to do was whitewash your President's house to cover the marks the flames left.
