Good deal.

Got er all back together and have put on 400 miles.

With the recent crappy weather I feel lucky to have put on some miles. This is a cold spring so far.

Bike seems good to go. Weather, bike, and wife permitting I will see you all on the 9th.

Sadly, I will not make the pot luck. Saturday is my main study day for school and I will have to git home to do that.

You're right. I have rearranged my priorities! I'll be there!

Actually, Cheryl told me that if I go on the ride it would be an improvement from last year when we both had strep throat. She is a wonderful wife and is encouraging me to go. I may even bring my buddy John who rides a Yamaha XS650. Some of you may remember last year when I rode it for the Bluff Country River Ride. Anyway, John is trying to work out his travel schedule so he can come too.

So add me to the list and a maybe for John.

Way early to bring this up, but the long, long range forecast calls for rain on the 9th. That may be a good thing, though, usually the front they are looking at that far out comes in later or earlier than expected. Let's hope so.

Don't worry, it will rain on Friday on my 300 mile ride over there. Saturday will only be sunshine ... that is unless Don leaves his rain gear in Wisconsin!!! We have to have someone to blame!

Don, you have been warned ... no rain gear and you will be picked on by at least me!

Already have one pair of rain gear in the saddlebags. Maybe I should throw the other set in just for fun.

Well, Randall, I may have spoke too soon. Yesterday I was preparing for the ride by adjusting cam chain and adjusting valve clearance. The last cover bolt to go on broke when my torque wrench let me down. Long story short, I pulled the head and I'm going to a machine shop.

John definitely can't go and now I am doubtful I'll be ready for a long ride in less than a week.

Bummer. Have fun anyway.

David

Sadly, I may not make it unless things go real well with the new/used bike I bought.

I bought another CX650C that is in not quite running condition.
I have to get it running by monday 5/11 for my son who needs it for work.

Saturday will be a big push day to get it done.

It needs carb work and all new front brake system overhaul.

I may end up stealing the carbs and brake system off my running bike.

Fox 9 is calling for rain early Saturday morning. Weather.com shows Partly cloudy for Friday and Saturday with 20% chance of rain right now. How's a person supposed to plan stuff?!

Just got my new brake caliper in today, gonna get that on and hopefully bled and working before Saturday. I'm getting excited for the ride!

David, maybe this is Providence saying you should be at home with your wife.  Have a happy anniversary, and give my best to Cheryl.

If you end up needing to re-thread, the 6mm Helicoil kit is well worth the cost.  It can be used all over the bike.

Special Brownies on Saturday and cookies. I'm hoping it doesn't rain but I have the gear.

Do we have a back up plan if the ride doesn't work. I know Dave and I will be there. Melody isn't a rainy riding person so she can figure out what she wants to do if drops start falling.
