Russian "Old Guardion Bikers" always:
- say "Good Morning" every day and "Thank you"(and kiss hes!!) to hes bike;
- raise hand (use highlight or horn) when meeting other biker on the road;
- if see other bike, that stop on side of road stop and ask "Have problem? Can i hel you?" And never ask money for two liters gasoline or other help;
- it is very bad, when helmet drop on the ground! Never ride today! If you need ride - kick foot to ground......

I miss-this tradition (also #2 & #3) go away to far times.....

It is in Russia... Do you have tradition like this?

This is in semi-rural Saskatchewan Canada
#1 -  No talking to my bike, but occasionally a pat on the tank when she has done well ( and no one else is around), but usually it'sjust a kind thought.
#2 - the greeting when meeting another motorcyclist on the road here is usually a low wave. The horn and light are  warnings which mean 'get out of my way' or 'notice I'm here'.
#3 - stopping to see if a bike parked on the side of the highway is in need of help is a wonderful courtesy to strangers, same as in Russia, and one I also enjoy giving and receiving.
#4 - never heard of that one before.

I pat them on the headlight after a ride.

The low wave or the thumbs up wave.......but only for riders with helmets.

1: No talking, no kisses, no names. Nice thoughts, for the most. Occasionally evil thoughts, like selling the damned thing, when it didn´t behave. Or blowtorch!
2. Low wave still pretty normal here, although it seems to be transforming into just a barely visible gesture with the left hand still on the bars. I´m phasing it out, altogether, more with each year. I never greet upright sitting old school Beemer riders or "fringe people" - or painted jackets. Why should I? They´re a different breed and often don´t wave back, anyway. Or bike cops. Of course.
3. Always, except for Harley riders. They have already paid well for the benefit of being broken down. This is a great one - between car drivers in the same situation most people wouldn´t care (or dare?).
4. This was a new one!
5. It´s always quite OK to ask to join a table at a biker´s café or the like. If you come on your own, you may very well be invited to share. Doesn´t happen as often at normal cafés or bars. Nice habit!

1:  I don't talk to my bike. I do talk to myself.

2:  Low wave unless there are a ton of bikes out or traffic. Or if I'm running across a lot of harleys not waving back. Bad enough they cant read but a wave is a friendly thing that everyone understands.

3:  Most of the time. Especially if it's a honda.

4:  I don't drop my helmet. I walk it from the house and hang it on my sissybar till it's on my head. If I believed I would go back into the house and get another helmet. If I drop all 5 I quit.

5:  I've joined bikers. It's harder to join people in a cafe especially when it's a overbearing husband and his extra busty smile happy wife and daughter.
