Surprise [:O] GL650: 65HP@800rpm & 62Nm@6000 and RED zone 9000!

I never turn engine 5500 or over. Today i`ve go to job and have comfort ride 55mph by 3000rpm (on 5 gear).
Also, i have 2 things:

1) It`s normal 55mph by 3000 rpm?
2) Who can get 6000-8000 rpm? As i think it is "low flying airplain". When i ride on highway i have 60-80mph by 4000-5000rpm (and dont get maximum!) I have fear for ride too fast or 4000-5000 is normal?

Sounds to me like you're only using 1/2 of the bike, and not the 1/2 that's the most fun, either!  I'm sure it has to do with what roads are like where you ride.  My GL650I likes to run up to redline just fine.

Hell, I take my CX650E past redline on a pretty regular basis, especially in first and second gear.

Your bike won't mysteriously blow up if you pass the red line, it will eventually blow up if you sustain it beyond the red line for a long period of time on a regular basis.

The tach is like a gas gauge in your car. Use the whole range. Although I don't normally go above 8,000.

About quality of roads to Russia speak: "Here there are no roads - here there is a direction where you wish to go" (Quality of road and not-roads identical).
