Probably works better with the 78-80 forks. That would be an excellent way to increase the front ride height for my CX enduro project. Do you think a machine shop would make one-offs for less than $75? I would see if you can find a similar outer diameter thick pipe, slide it over the top cap and have someone weld it. 1979 CX500 Supertanker ATGATT makes riding a bike like a sled easier.
