For the other vehicles I currently have there's not much out there, the discussion is typically: Concours: "What farkles have you added" 63 VW Bug: "Dude, how much did you lower your front end? Whoa.." 500 Interceptor: No forum, too rare a bike. Ford Windstar: General Ford forum, nobody cares (including me). Ford Focus: Couple of decent forums, but I don't care enough to join. It's reliable transportation, that's all. Initially I thought the lack of a search function on CC was bad, but it seems to keep the discussion going and brings out new solutions for old problems. Other Forums Stink I have slowly reduced my pay forums since they are just complaints waiting to happen. I guess I offended some little girl the last time i was on Nikonians Nikon Forum. Ended up with a bunch of emails at an address that I never use saying the this waste of skin was very sensitive and I should apologize because he is a very helpful person. Not my fault he didn't deserve to live and wasn't helpful at all. But I still wish this site was a one time pay. Even $5 is better than none. Read all you want for free but $5 to get to ask questions and stuff. Maybe then we wouldn't have 1000 or more spam members. And if you lost a password or couldn't get on then maybe an email could be sent to the people that bee to fix things. I like to be a part of some things, and it seems like this is a pretty quiet group for the most part. So the other day I started searching out other 'Wing forums and other than this forum, I like the Steve Saunders Goldwing forums. I love the groups in general- completely obvious that there are very knowledgeable and wonderful people in both places....... yes this is a great forum, but I wouldn't say all others stink!! :-p 1982 Honda GL500 This is my bike, there are others like it- but this one is mine!!    Report

I find most are whiny and flame ridden. not to mention all the questions that Don't get responses or answers of any kind. If there are 30 threads all asking the same question dated from 4 years ago to less than a month. and there are No answers and very few replies? Some are things you Can't live with, so they have to have found a solution somewhere or somehow. When i do that at work, and can't find it online, after i find my solution I go back and reply to the newest related thread so it is at least out there. Here, there are very few threads without a reply of some kind and most are very helpful. If you do manage to find a problem we don't already have a few solutions for, we either help you find it or the member with the problem comes back and tells us what it was later. Other Forums Stink DougD, you're going to have to buy another CX500 or GL500.  Heck I've owned 4 of them and currently have 2.  I also have a Karmann Ghia convertible and I lowered the front end 2.5 inches. Other Forums Stink I blundered into the english forum http://globalcxglvtwins.hostingdelivered.com and went to the CV carb section. I posted my results that if you clean the carbs the air pistons need to be lubricated with a dry lubricant like powered graphite. ( posted that here too) What I got back was admin who makes 80% of all postings there telling me to never lubricate the carbs. That's OK. There are different opinions and it that works for him it’s fine with me. Problem was I found I was then banned from the forum. Oh well. I don’t need another forum anyway.    Report

I finally got a second set that also did not work but when i took them apart the air pistons were lubercated with some type of black stuff. I remembered that powerded graphite was used to lubercate my sterling engine kit and figured one air piston should be like the other. Tried the graphite and runs 100 % better. Must likeley there are better types of dry lubercant but i do not know what they are.    Report
