Nothin' special, nope. Just a nice flat black paint scheme...
 It's not age, it's patina.

And let me tell ya, it makes for mighty fine doodlin'. In case no one figured it out yet, i've painted the bike with chalkboard paint. I hope to see some good things come from it, and thought it woul be a great way to get people into something different when i stop at shows and whatnot. I only hope there's some very creative people around when i park at shows, i can't wait!!

Looks like you had to strip that puppy to fix the little dent on the right side. I like the chalk idea. My girlfriend kept telling me that I should try something like that.

there were quite a few small dents, most of them really freakin old and filled ok, so until i stripped that out, it would have gotten by. HUGE low spots where the honda tags went, too. but nothing that wasn't easy to fix. I lucked out and have long handled body spoons, so i didn't have to cut her open. Still it was really clean, zero rust, and everything was easy to work out. The bodywork on the tank only took a couple of hours, which was a nice change of pace in my world ;)
As it stands, the side panels are done, i'm just waiting for the gromments to come from honda. Now i have to clean out the tank, and decide if i should take the polished cap off and paint the old black cap with the chalkboard stuff, too. Maybe even the mirrors. I could well just get carried away, too!
Oh another note, they do make whiteboard paint, too. The only downside is, it seems to be hard to shoot through a can/spray gun.
My biggest gripe is, the plastic to hold the CX500 tag on the side panel is made of a much different plastic than the side panel itself, and no matter how much primer or how many layers of paint i put on there, you can still see the pegs from the CX500 tag. Well, if you look. Really hard. At the right angle. In the sun. But it bothers me! Maybe i'll fix it later.
For now i need to paint the cowl, but since all the little screws are rusted and stripped, i get to show off my awesome tape/paper skills to try and get that done. Not even bothering with the fan/rad cover right now, only because i just don't want to open that can of worms right now...
