Questions about non-US dual disk forks

I've been thinking about the brake upgrade question and have wondered if it's possible to get a non-US right side fork lower and install it on my current forks. I have a '79 Custom with 33mm forks (I believe). I was thinking about getting the lower only to save shipping costs. Does anyone know the specs of the non-US forks? Did the forks change diameter over the years like the US models, was a 33mm produced? Did the forks change the axle position to increase trail as in later US model years?
I was thinking this might be the easiest way to upgrade brake performance. Now if I can just get a fork brace...

I'm thinking that one person from here actually did that upgrade and it costed a bit. I was debating it and got some good info from Shep and Sture.
All you need is the right year and a seller willing to ship to the U.S.
1979 CX500 Supertanker ATGATT makes riding a bike like a sled easier.

I've never tried this but you can use the forks off a CB400n or a CB750 and or an old style CB900 AFAIK so a bike scrapyard could be a good place to visit. This bike,

originally had CB400n forks on it and CB900 brake callipers.It still has the callipers but I put stock forks only because the fork seals went in the CB400n ones and I had a spare pair of the original forks with good seals at the time so just did a swap over. I miss the CB400n forks which are virtually identical but they have the drain bolt for the fork fluid that the Stock UK CXs don't have.I do have a spare fork seal so may try and fix them but I just did one of the original forks on the bike so it's a bit of the old,"If it's working,don't fix it<again>" situation.
Note:If ever you get a set of CB900 callipers you must also get the banjo bolt with the callipers as it's longer than the ones in the CX callipers which are too short to work in the CB900 callipers. If ever you try to go to dual disc you basically need the full front end including a dual disc wheel but there is a twin pipe junction unit on the UK CXs as well attached to the head-stock.Part number 2 on here,

but you can actually get away without this by using a single brake line down to the right hand side calliper and a dual Banjo bolt,
and then a short brake line across the bottom back of the front mudguard to the left hand side calliper but the bolt length again must work in the callipers.My MOT(Road worthiness) bike mechanic gave me this idea as he has this on his Harley Chopper.

Thanks for all the info Shep. I'd like both stiffer forks to reduce lateral flexing as well as dual discs. But, it seems cost and the lack of a garage create significant barriers, damn it. Maybe a fork brace with a better caliper/MC setup is the easiest and most cost effective way to go. The CB900 calipers are each single piston right? I think I've seen some dual piston ones on ebay but I'm not sure.
I was also looking at Randakk's MC that he sells here. I imagine this MC with an upgraded caliper would significantly increase the brakes. The question is what caliper and would there be disc compatibility/swapping issues - alignment, bolt pattern? Does anyone know if just upgrading the MC with some stainless steel lines would make a huge difference? Again, I have a '79 Custom with the single piston caliper.
