aftermarket carbs
Hello,
If one intends on putting in an aftermarket air filter (e.g. K&N pod filters), and a 2n1 exhaust system, would it be also wise to pick up after market carburetors that are designed for such mods, or will the stock CX500D (1980) ones suffice with a rejetting? Just gathering information for my 2010/11 winter cafe project...

Re: aftermarket carbs
The stock carbs are great and capable of good flow with minimal mods. Do your self a favor and don't mess with the carbs. They are also in plentiful supply so spares are no problem.

Re: aftermarket carbs
the carbs on the bikes are decent at best.....your talking about 30 year old carb technology. a set of CRF250R carbs would be an amazing upgrade...the throttle would be MUCH more responsive.
