You used to be able to haul ass on it but too many people have gotten killed. Now there are lots of Cops. If you never rode it before take you time when sombody come up behind you try to get out their way when you can. Some riders get a little carried away just like i used to. It is fun to ride about half way through, pull over on a wide spot ant watch the crazy people blasting by. Kevin Murphy    Report

They had a big rock slide it was even on CNN Headline news they showed a guy land his Cadallac on it. My neighbor told me that they don't need highway patrolmen to stop speeders in West Virginia as they're self-limiting.  If they go too fast up there, they run off the mountain.  No speeders to write tickets for... I thought I would ride down today now that they have opened it up and see what's happing. The other way is just to "outta' the way". As far as West Va. that a way to clean the shallow end of the gene pool! There are "old" riders and there are "bold" riders, but there are no "old bold" riders! '82 GL500I aged 61 yrs.    Report

First thing this AM some Harley rider crossed the center line and tangled with an SUV. they had to tow the SUV out and the rider in the ambulance. It was interesting to see the bike parked in the ditch where there is no parking! Darwin at work I reckon. Hot day and lots of bikes. Talked with a guy from Milwaukee, heart of H-D country and he's on his Goldwing. I thought I had the oldest bike there but a guy showed up a 1967 Honda CB160, one of those barn finds. Another guy from Michigan was on a Honda CB750 1969 in perfect condition, and he road it down to the Gap! A good day in all. '82 GL500I aged 61 yrs.    Report

What did you think of the Dragon? After riding it to day I can say it's not really fun but it is a challenge. There are other rides that are more fun because the curves and turns aren't so extreme.
