SHOCKS over front fork tubes with oil ?
Reply Quote
Check out the front shocks instead of forks with oil....doesn't this seem more practical ?

Just curious of your guys' thoughts on the matter.

What bike is that. I'm curious on the fork design as it seems more like there would be forks kind of like a springer with those shocks to eat up the rest. Otherwise I see twisting.

Early beemer with Earls style front end.

Very heavy and not nearly as good as telescopic forks.

I think it was called the Earls leading link front suspension.

Rickl,

I am sure there is oil in front dampers. Not much different in construction than your rear shock/spring assy.

Just like a springer. Plus the motorcycle doesn't break 70mph.

I'd love to drive that blue one! Is that an alternator on the top?

I saw one of those things and was amazed that the sidecar wheel was driven by a drive shaft that was connected to the rear wheel of the bike with "U" joints. Interesting but had to gobble up more than a few horsepower.
