CDI?????
Hey everyone first post. I have a 78 cx500 and the other day the weirdes thing happened... Was at a party and apparently someone pulled my right side plug wire. Well it started. Sounded bad so I shut it off. Discovered the wire put it back on. Rode an hour home and stopped at work. shut it off for about 5 mins started it back up pulled it up off the kickstand and it shut off and won't start. Pulled the plugs and there is no spark either side. Check all connections and fuses and nothing was wrong. I looked in the repair manual and it pretty much threw cdi at me. I pulled it off and there are wat looks like bb gun holes in the bottom rubber piece from the inside out. Please Help lol Its been beautiful the last week or so... miss my bike sooo much!!!

Re: CDI?????
First where are you located?
Cdi's have been going bad for a while now seems like life over 30 years is getting hard on them. If the cdi is your problem then there is an ignitech replacement that you can buy.
Better act fast if you want this one.

Re: CDI?????
Dont worry about the 'BB' holes, thats quite common and caused during build where air
escaped after the potting compound was poured in.
theres a quick and dirty test to see if the CDI is working or not
Its here.
