replacing my 1980 cx500 custom engine with a 1982 cx500 turbo engine?

is it possible? what would need to me done? my current engine has a trans problem so i was going to just get a better condition transmission off ebay and install that but i saw a 500 turbo engine on there which i beleive had a transistor electrical system and 82 BHP over my 50 BHP in the current engine. i think they used the same drive shafts so that shouldnt be a problem but i think i would need to do some rewiring for the new system. anybody tried this?

Stating all the differences between the two bikes would fill a book. That's one swap that will probably never been done.

*snicker*
Stick with the stock engine.

Why do I own five CX/GL bikes? Ask an alcoholic why he drinks.

Anything can be done with time, money, and fabrication skills, but in the end, you'll just have a bastardized bike, especially if the ebay motor doesn't come with a wiring harness.
I think the stock route is the better way to go.

Buy a Turbo.....
Much more modern bike and you'll get addicted to the prolink suspension, fuel injection, and other nice features...

I'm all for being creative and working on a project. However, I think it is too much effort to get a mediocre result. There are just vast amounts of differences. What's worse, is finding a problem mid-way through or near the end of the project which then makes it nearly impossible to finish. There are CX500 Turbos for sale quite frequently on craigslist, etc. You should just one of those bikes; you will be happier with the looks, and performance.................
