hi to all honda owners from greece.i just buy one cx 500 euro and i have two questions, first when i turn on my fuel valve below the tank i dont have fuel... why? is that the right way or the valva tank needs something to work? maybe some air from the carbs? second. when i put the starter with a new battery the motor is just turn hard one time(like its dead from a battery),but its not /what it is? the el. start?) from the left of the battery? it is clever to push start it down the street witha second gear without a battery? thank you an sorry for my english

Leon, the fuel valve is vacuum operated, if the engine doesn't turn over fuel won't flow. There should be a hose from the right carb that runs to the forward most nipple on the back of the valve.
You can push start, but first ensure your battery is fully charged.

Make sure your fuel is fresh, don't run it on old petrol.
It only takes a few ml of fuel to start.
You should check first that your engine turns over properly. Change the oil, remove the spark plugs.
On the front of the engine, below the radiator and between the oil filter cover and the clutch cover is a 17mm nut. Remove it, and below that is another 17 mm nut. Set your wrench to "tighten", and attempt to turn over the engine by hand.
If it hasn't been run in several years, the engine may be siezed which is why the starter isn't turning. Maybe
Good luck

Siezed, stuck, won't turn.
It could be ok, these engines can sit for years and fire up easily, but you should do a few preparation steps first.
Change oil.
New plugs
Change coolant
adjust valves and cam chain if you don't have an automatic adjuster.
This is a bare minimum, You might want to pull out the carbs and clean them first as well.
Lots of help here to get you going. I had a GL500 last year I got that had not run for 4 years, and it started right up by doing the above. Carbs still needed cleaning though.
If you can get the engine to turn, and the starter to function, have some carb cleaner/starting fluid spray handy, and spray it through the air box (where the filter is) while trying to start.

Also, just an idea.. Could it be a blown fuse or seized starter?

Could be starter, could be his "new" battery needs a full charge. I just think starting with making sure the engine turns over on a bike that sat for years is a good, easy, cheap first step. If it does turn, one can adjust the cam chain and valves at the same time.
