Saw my first silver wing today.

Pulling out of the gas station tonight two guys on Honda's were in front of me waiting to exit, and what do you know there was a twisted twin! Only the 2nd one I've seen since I bought mine, only this one was a silver wing. Really a beautiful bike and I'm guessing it was
a 650. (Are all silver wings 650's?) Anyway, it looked like the engine was just a bit bigger than mine. I rode my bike up toward him and his buddy (on a gold wing) in hopes that I could maybe talk to the guy and get a better look at his bike but he just glanced at my bike
and took off. (Oh well) As it turned out they were riding toward the highway as I was and I ended up behind the guy on the SW going up the ramp to get on the HW. It was fun because he jumped into the throttle quite a bit going up the ramp and I was rapping out my 500
just so I could stay right with him. Anyway, it was neat to see one at last. I'm really thinking on having one this time next year if the right deal comes along.

Silverwings are 500's and 650's and I think 600 scooters now.

Yeah, I've seen the scooters in some trader weekly mag's before. This looked like an early to mid 80's silver wing (dark brown in color). Is there a noticeable difference in the size's of the 500's and 650's engines? Maybe my eyes deceived me but the engine on this bike looked
a little bigger too me.

I'm thinking engine color and possibly bike color. The bikes are the same in many ways and all the bodyparts transfer.
Lets see there's Black Candy Muse Red Wineberry Gray and possibly one more.
These are both Muse Red 500's

And here's a 650. I think they had beefier forks.

Huh, maybe it was just a 500 then I'm not sure. It was the exact bike in the top photo in color anyway but without the saddle cases.

Was this in columbus? I know there are many more people that have these bikes that we dont know yet but if you look at the QS&L thread there is a guy in there I've met that has a Burgundy silver wing.

Nope it was here in Marion, but it seemed like they were coming from that direction. They were traveling North on highway 23 and were just in Marion to gas up. I'll have to check the QS&L thread and see.
(Hows your bike running Diesel?)

Not really, the easiest way to quickly tell the difference is the engine color. Black=650.

My silverwing is a 500. I showed her to a friend of mine today who hasn't been to my house yet- so during the tour, I showed her the torn down version of Chaos.... and she goes "WOW! That's a big bike for a woman!"
I nearly died laughing.
p.s. I GOT THE SEAT TONIGHT!!!!! TOOK SOME PICS OF IT JUST SITTING ON THE BIKE!.... have to go start some laundry and then I'll be back and load them from my camera.......... bwaahahahahahahahahaha!!!
