Yes [Y] Here's an idea for a GL500 seat....

OK fellas, here's my new avatar. At least you'll get an idea of what my new seat will look on my 1982 Silverwing. No mods made yet- I just set the seat on top of the bike to get a picture taken. Will work on the paint- the boyfriend was a welder for years, so he'll be the one to take over the welding/ grinding/ cutting modifications. I will assist him as much as possible while getting pictures so other GL500 owners can see another seating option.

All of my pics have been posted on my blog
:-)

I personally think that seat makes that bike look pretty sharp

I was just going to ask for a picture of your can. Is that a 2 piece wide glide seat?

nah... the wide glide seat we had to try on the bike was too skinny- it just looked stupid. This flows with the lines a lot better and pretty much matched the dimensions of the seat that was on it when I purchased it exactly. This is a 2 piece road king seat. Pics to follow (hopefully) as it's modified. The only reason I say hopefully is because there is always a chance the bf will surprise me and I'll come home one day to it being done. Keeping the pics on the blog though- I have something like 64 posted right now

To skinny on the rear? or overall?

When you get that puppy all sorted out we should hunt up a group meet. I know Need for Steed and Bearman are in Joliet along with a few others. I'm a decent ride away but should get down there to see them sometime soon.

overall. It looked like you might as well just sit on the frame..... which gave me the mental image of a clown riding a bike way too small, so their knees are wayyyyyy out to the side... it just didn't look right.
Yeah, hopefully I'll get it all sorted out soon!! A lot of it I've never done before, and am learning along the way though, so all things considered, I guess it could be worse.. LOL
