I found the color pink I want for the flames. The only issue is it's a glitter color, and I really just want that color in metallic.....

Well guys, the seat mount is fabbed. Mods made for it, adjustments, etc. I now have a 1982 Honda Silverwing with a Road King seat..... Would that make it a SilverKing? That's... black?? LOL.... I need to take the camera outside now, and take a picture of the bike. Everything is black besides the fairing and the rear fender. More coats of paint on everything to come, as well as the pornstar pink and silver flames. We're both pretty tired- I made sure ALL of the housework was done so he had nothing to do when he got home from TX (@ 6am Saturday morning)- he slept a little bit and then we had some stuff we had to do- and then he started welding up what was needed for the seat. (I took PLENTY of pictures, but have been so busy the last 2 days nothing has been posted yet.)
**sigh** I'm gonna step away from the laptop for a few minutes, gently put the seat on the bike, and take some pics.... then I'll come back here while I upload my pics.

This site only likes FireFox and scorns all others. I suspect the sites new home will play nice with more than one browser.

There ya go.
Have you looked at the Alsa paints yet, they've got some pretty impressive stuff. Beware though, some of it requires a bit of finesse to use correctly.

I like the pink I had found- just didn't want glitter.
Changed my avatar pic just now as well.... time to go load the pics to the blog in a new photo album.

Doesn't look like much glitter in there. Besides, don't you usually add the glitter yourself when you mix or spray?

no it doesn't look like much glitter, but on another autoair site there was a closeup... and I'm just not fond of the glitter. Because of that pic though- it DOESN'T look like there is much glitter, so I'm 99.99% sure I'm gonna go with that color pink..... it's not even the whole bike, just the flames... so I'm starting to think I'm too picky and should just pick a pink that's close enough, and not *perfect*.. LOL

I just checked out the seat and it's interesting. I'm curious though. How much higher is it over stock. Without that fender tail end on there I don't have a concept of height. I do like what I see.

Troy says it's about 2 inches higher in the front and 5 actual for the rear. Looking at the seat and the paint.. I say he's pretty amazing.

LOL.... I thought about keeping it a single seat, but I like the look better with the double seat...... However, there will be no passengers on my bike!! :-D
AND- he said once there's pink flames on the bike, he won't even drive it.. ROFL

I love all sorts of out of the ordinary brite colors.
House of Kolors candys are some of my favorites.
Just keep one thing in mind.........If you go with a radical color like your doing, if you ever go to sell the bike, it will be 100 times harder to find a buyer at a given price.

I've kept one thing in mind..... that this is the bike I've always wanted. I told the boyfriend (when he mentioned that one day I might want to sell it and get something bigger) that I will always have this bike. Now that he's been talking about getting a Honda Fury, I won't have to sell this bike for something bigger... lol.... when he's gone during the week and I want to take the bigger bike out, I can :-)
I wouldn't part with my old rusted out 73 AMC Hornet, in Oscar the Grouch green- I don't forsee ever wanting to sell this bike.. LOL. I wanted my dad's Goldwing, just smaller, and that's basically what I have now.

ummmmmmmmm...... no.
LOL
That's nearly the color of my kayak though. The pink for the bike is gonna be darker, more intense. Then, I think I've worn out the shock factor of pink for me... LOL. It used to be if anyone who knew me saw me with a pink bike, shirt, etc... they would flip out cause pink and I just don't go together.. haha... Knowing this, I've had some fun with it, but it's not as surprising anymore to family and friends ;-)
So after the pink on the bike- that's it, back to the usual for me :-)
p.s. Pepto pink...... BLECH!!

I had a rusted out Torino and it got to the point that I could not park it at the curb on Tuesdays because the garbage men kept trying to take it. lol

Yeah, when you can see the ground under you clearly...... and there is supposed to be a solid floor, you leave giant carbon spots when you start it up, have no heat, can't listen to the AM radio AND use the turn signals... just to name a few issues.... it's probably time to send it to car heaven.....

Good looking ride and the seat looks great. Thanks for the pics on how your mounting it that way I know what I am doing when I get my roadking seat and get ready to mount it. Can't wait to see the finished product.

He tack welded some nuts to the driver seat so the seat mounting was easy- after all the paint and body reassembly was done. The only issue we had was the positioning. They were slightly too wide where he welded them, so he had to take the grinder to the back seat and ever so slightly widen the spaces for the bolts. Not even noticeable- but figured I'd give you that heads up! It took longer to figure out what the problem was than it did to fix it!
I'm beyond excited! I took a picture on my phone cause I can't stop looking at it- and the boyfriend says he did a bad thing, cause he figures all winter he's gonna hear *I miss my bike. I wish I could ride my bike* LOL
He's probably right.

I'll change my av..... right now it's my last Dakota (hence the name)... I've never gone wrong with Dakotas, or Mopar in general..... currently I'm in my first and last GM. Issue after issue after issue. 1 yr and 9 months... and 9 different issues with the car- and it was only 2 when I bought it. Currently looking for a pic of Oscar the Hornet
you'll laugh- it's a sad little car that I totally loved.. haha
*edit*
Found my hornet pics on my external.. lol... had to dig through all of the folders. This was before it got really bad. At the end, the driveway at the back of the car was black from all of the carbon spots. Mice were coming in through the floor and making their happy little homes in the car.... creepy. If I wanted to be able to use turn signals, I couldn't even think of listening to the AM radio- it would blow the fuse. The trans line shook loose, leaving me @ 2:45 am walking home to wait til it got light to go to autozone, get the hose, and fix it myself before going to work.... When it got really bad, I just stopped taking pics. It wasn't worth it then.. LOL

haha.... yeah, for $180. I paid about $20 and all I'm using it for are the flames..... I DID come across this color while I was looking, along with 1 or 2 others like it. Cost effectiveness won out though. ;-)
Thank you (!!!!!)

Well, it's only $50-something if you buy it all on its own and not a kit :)

Thanks, Jason... I really really do appreciate it.. LOL..... I wanted to be out this weekend on it, but it won't be finished by then... if I had got my indecisive butt in gear and picked the pink, I MIGHT'VE had it by now, and riding this weekend... but next weekend is the best I can hope for now......
