Just found this listing. It is a few weeks old, but might be worth looking at to some of you. They are for some used engines. I don't know if the guy is willing to ship or not, but they seem pretty cheap to me. http://boise.craigslist.org/mcy/1818464814.aspx

Are you near the person selling the engines? Or have you contacted the person.
Those are cheap prices.

Cheers Viper from North Ada County. I have traded some emails with the seller and he does not really have much info on these engines. One is from a GL, the other two are CX's. He does not know the mileage or any other historical info. The guy he got them from says they were all running when removed from their donor cycles. I may snag them myself if they are still available now that I have my truck back fromt the shop finally.
Your CX looks identical to mine! I have been riding mine through Nampa every Wednesday on the way to a jobsite in Owyhee County but that has ended.

Jesus. 5 engines for $50. That's a deal even if they don't work. And I bet I could find someone to take the yamaha engine and someone probably wants the cb450.
But that is a long way to go.

Wouldn't that be nice. I have a feeling my wallet is saying no on traveling 3500 miles round trip for an engine. Looks like it would only take 184 gallons of gas in my truck. Estimated that's bout $500 for the trip. Now if we take the bikes then that's only half but still a combined $500. No winning here. Maybe someone on the other side of the U.S. can get to them.

Believe it was last May (2009) I purchased an engine from Kribbie (was supposed to be a GL500 engine) for $50 U.S. I have yet to cross the border or to make complete arrangements to have the engine shipped to me. I really don't need that engine anymore. If he still has it (he should - he seemed to be a stand-up guy), anyone willing to pay me the $50 U.S. I paid can have it. You'll have to contact Kribbie to make shipping arrangements, though.
I don't need it because I don't need to be greedy - I have a low-mileage (running) spare GL500 engine still in a crate, and I will be picking up another GL500 engine this week (local to me). I certainly don't need a third...
