Where is the amish rally?
|
|
|
|
|
I wanted some more info on the amish rally. I'm sure there is another post but I could not find it.
Could someone get me a link or something so I could see exactly where it is and plan out my route to getting there?
How many of us will be there ya think?
and what kind of accomadations do we have? My understanding is that we have a hunting lodge to bunk down in.
Looking forward to it, I've had a long hot summer with far too few miles on my bikes. It's starting to make me a little crazy.
thanks

A little help until someone else gets you the details. Milton, PA on I-80 is within a few miles of the rally site. The lodging is a multifloor rustic "house" with lots of beds in several rooms (think dorm style), two bathrooms, a gang shower in the basement, and two kitchens. Sort of a two floor duplex hunting camp, with electricity and running water. Large kitchens with plenty of seating. Rural, camping is a little quieter and more private than the dorm rooms. Overall, clean enough if you've had your shots. :-) Sounds like a jet engine test shed once everyone is asleep and snoring. Very friendly atmosphere. $15 feast fee for reservations (requiired) for Saturday late afternoon's catered meal, others by contribution or eat out. Lodging fee is $10/night/person I think, Phil can update us on that, he is the purser for lodging. 15-20 people is likely attendance I think. Don't go into the outhouse without an anti-venom kit. A few guys camp each year in the yard. We usually have at least one foreign guest too.

Objects in the outhouse are closer than they appear.

Matt, I know there is a set of GPS coordinates around somewhere in the way back posts. Do you need additional info at this time? Don't want you to feel ignored!

Matt, make Lowgap, NC your first stop and we'll ride to Milton together. Dave F. make Lowgap your first stop and we'll ride as a group. Anyone else? come on along. Let's make the trip an adventure. Yes Diesel, cars & trucks welcome.

The last time I showed up it was like "awww Hail it's Rain Man" It hailed the next day. This is the trip I look forward to all year. However, this time I'll try to leave the weather behind...

I would like to do that....
However, I'm going to have to cheat to get there. I'm loading the bike in my truck.
I have a cx500 custom with a range of -90 miles, clubman bars, no luggage or storage at all. I'm not at all concerned about the reliablilty, or my ability to make a 1000 mile ride to the rally, it's just t hat it would take me 2 to 3 very long days to make it, and I can't get away for that long.
I kinda feel like a sissy, but gotta do it like that.
However, how far to Milton from your place?
If it's a day or so, I'll seriously consider riding from there.

Sounds like you're not set up for MC touring at all. Being restricted for time is not so great either. Your truck will get your bike and your luggage there with air conditioned comfort. You can then relax and enjoy the weekend. You will not be alone, Jim trucks from New Jersey, Russ trucks from Connecticut, Tony trucks from Lewisburg.

And for the first time I will be trucking from Murfreesboro, TN. So don't worry about the truck, just get there!
