Is there any folks on ChopperCharles who work in Arboriculture  ??

Just curious after realizing how many people are involved in this forum.

I have worked at Silviculture, thinning,,,,but not Arboriculture.

I originally got my degree in forestry, but after college I drifted sideways a bit away from it, so never got into it professionally.

I cut and split 10 cords of red oak firewood for heat each year.......does that count ?? !!!!!

My dad has a forestry degree from Michigan Tech but he never used unless you count making fire wood every year. Guess he was to busy making sure there was food on the table working 2 jobs then hunting for one good one.

I've always wanted too, but I have a degree in mechanical engineering... How much more school do you guys think it would take to switch fields?

I don't know about Mass., but here in SC I'd say look at the Board of Forestry website (this is one of 48 professional boards to whom I provide IT support.).  Here a link to the SC Forestry FAQ page.
