WTB Luggage rack/bags
I'm riding from Nova Scotia to Chicago in September. I plan on camping along the way, so I need a way to strap some gear to my bike and/or attach some bags.
If anyone has anything available or suggestions for solutions that may work, let me know.
Thanks.

It all depends on what you want to spend and what type of bags. Soft or hard.
Check out the post of my hard cases in the turbo forum.

How involved do you want to make this. If you're handy with a welder you could mount up some ammo cans. That is if canada allows them.
Or you could pick up some throw over bags. Rear racks are a good idea.
Word for the wise. Figure out how much crap you want to take and then figure out how much you need to take.

Still upset about losing your oreos BS?
Ryan - if your trip is a one time event, soft bags would be easiest and cheapest. Side bags and tank bags can sometimes be found on your local Kijiji. You have lots of time so maybe you could put in a want ad. I picked up a pair of gently used side bags advertised there for $20. They did need some strap remodelling and a stiff inner panel to keep them off the rear wheel. A large duffel bag strapped athwartship on the rear seat will hold the bigger, longer items - sleeping pad, tent and sleeping bag. Garbage bag liners are a good idea.

Re: WTB Luggage rack/bags
Thanks for the feedback. I'm riding an '80 deluxe as listed in my signature. I've done more than my share of travelling and can live for weeks out of what many would consider a day pack. So I reckon what I want the most is just a rack that I can strap my tiny tent/bag/pad combo to. I'll wear a small pack and maybe get a tank bag and that should be good to go. I'm moving to Chicago for 6 years, but most of my stuff will come separately.
There were a few Hondaline racks up on ebay, but they're mighty expensive, plus they want like $100 to ship to Canada.

I've got a luggage rack and a sissy bar for a 79 Cx500 that are available, I don't know if they'll fit though.
Update. Just looked up a shipping estimate, its going to run $40-60ish bucks to ship it
