Well as of 7pm I live on an island ruled by a CX500 Custom.
I was just joking with Bear about rain and driving to his place when I sat back to watch a movie. Well it's 10pm Milwaukee time and I live on an island. I guess the rains were a bit more harsh than I thought they were going to be. Melody just took a walk down to the other apartment buildings and told me I had to come see. A couple of my neighbors with family cars have water all the way up to their mirrors.
The swimming pool is still a swimming pool only deeper now and the road is non existent.
I guess it's a good thing I parked on the high ground. The bike is only cosmetically wet.
I talked with a neighbor and on her husbands way home the road disappeared and so did his bmw. Insurance company already said it was cosmetically totaled. Not sure how they know since it's not visible but maybe that's a clue.
Edit. Here is a google map of my place. My bike is parked at the red A.

The darker blue in the picture is 2-8 feet of water. The other blue is under that. I know i'm stuck because all the roads are lower than the buildings. Most of the water will probably be gone by the morning hopefully. And not filling the basement. There is only a 1-2 inches of scattered water in our basement. The neighbor said 2 feet in theirs.

yeah, I heard about that..... one of Troy's friends also drives a truck, and he's been stuck on the road in the same place since this afternoon (it's nearly 11pm now)- a trooper came over the radio and said they had all of the roads closed and probably weren't going to let anyone go anywhere til 8am..... ick

Wow Don, We've had a ton of flooding up here as well, be thankful your stuff is high and dry. A friend of mine had his basement fill to the door going down, with both his vehicles being written off.

My neighbors just knocked on the door to tell me the basement is filling up a bit more but the cx500 engine that I have down there is out of the way unless we get a couple feet. We did take a walk around the apartment complex and most of the major water is gone.
I almost feel sorry for that Volkswagen Shirako. It was probably the best looking one I had ever seen and now it's going to smell horrible. The guy ended up towing it out of the water with his wife's truck after it had been under water for about 4 hours.
I'm almost curious to see what happens on the news tomorrow. Sounds like a lot of people were inconvenienced.

MAN!!!!!!!!! You guys got hammered last night, Don. It stayed pretty well north of me, and looks like it may stay north perhaps until later on this afternoon. What we're going to have here is kinda the reverse of "wind-chill", with temps in the mid to upper 90's and heat indexes in the 105-110 range starting today around 10 and lasting until tomorrow around noon er so. Certainly not the best conditions to be heating, cutting and welding.
I'm kinda thinkin', Don, we could do this Sun. The rain will have moved out of the area, and the temps are supposed to be in the lower 80's.
Can't hardly beat sittin' back n readin the mail, whilst listinin ta "Little Martha" on the weather channel.....

I don't think it's going to be that bad. And if so we can just stop what we're doing.

Wow, I had no idea it rained that hard there. Is that all from yesterday or has it been going on for a while? We got some heavy rain up here but nothing crazy.
:edit: Forgot to mention, I'm in Eau Claire.

It only rained from about 6:30 - 10:30 or so. Just 4 hours of ass kicking rain. I was driving Melody's car back from the grocery store and asked her if the wipers could go any faster and she said no. It was hard to see even going 25mph so I couldn't imagine going any faster.

We got some of that rain tonight, Don. We were at the track and made the first pass (8.09 @ 174 mph) and it HIT about 3/4 of the way back to the trailer. Soaked to the bone in 15 seconds....lol Fortunately, it passed in about 20 minutes and the sun came back out partially, but it didn't matter, we was done anyways.
See ya in the mornin'.
