That little white container on the left side of your bike with a black cap........about halfway down the side of your motorcycle underneath your butt?  It has, or should have a little wire "clip" that keeps that black cap from coming off? That one?  That is your radiators over-flow/intake resovoire. It should have a "fill" line on it (though this could be hard to see) to give expansion room for the coolant to go when your motor heats up. And then, as it cools back down, it'll draw that back into your cooling system.

The coolant over flow bottle is supposed to allow coolant to flow out of the radiator and back under extreme conditions. In reality and if the cooling system is nominal it is never used and bears no resemblance to the level of coolant in the Radiator. The level in the Radiator should be checked with the Radiator cap off.
If the coolant has not been changed since the purchase of the bike it should be a priority to change it as it tires just like oil.

Hi Dan,
This is the coolant overflow - if you have a standard cx500 or deluxe or C model -  your avatar piccie is either a Deluxe or C - do you know which? If so, please update your signature line to avoid confusion!

Some cx bikes do have disc brakes but not these ones!

When you really have to go you kneel next to your bike and make it look like you're fixing something and fill up the little bottle. Caution. Do not over fill!
