Yes [Y] Finally located my first MINT CX650T

New to the forum gang; Purchased a new leftover in the crate CX500T in 84' & have regretted selling that bike ever since. After a long search, located a gorgeous all original MINT 5800 mi. CX650T which from all I've read is a superior ride. Purchased from the first owner with original paperwork -an elderly gentleman in Cape Cod, MA. If any of you know of this bike, please let me know ? Anyway, I live in SE Wisconsin & was wondering if any of you could recommend a reliable service technician or Honda dealership in the area with someone who knows these bikes inside & out ? Will be replacing original tires with Avon RoadRiders & want it checked over top to bottom. Previous owner replaced all fluids with Mobil Synthetic prior to shipment & I just want everything double-checked. Also, if you have any rides in the area, please let me know & I am interested in joining the recently discussed CXT Club if it comes to be. Will be looking to add the matching CX500T to the stable when funds permit. Thanks everyone !

Hello,

I'm always happy to give phone/email help, and some customers ship their bikes to me while others have me come to their location.. If you have any mechanical skills we can help you get the bike going with phone/mail conversations..

Welcome aboard and congratulations.

I think you have enough boost with the Javalin in your avatar. But I hear that it is addicting.

Thanks Tony ! Glad to be a part of the group now & have already discussed things with Pete in NE. What a great guy & truly an asset to the forum members. btw, will be taking the AMX avatar photo down as soon as I get a chance to take some pics of the bike & get them posted. If you want to check out a few dyno runs for s & giggles, see youtube: 1969 amx blown quarter mile dyno run or amx dyno 2 or amx dyno 3. ok, enough car stuff. Future postings will be strictly CXT related. Thanks again !

Earlier this morning your post said that you bought the bike out PA.  I see now its changed to MA.  So, never mind, I was going to ask what area of PA.  Anyway, welcome to the group!

Thanks wildmanwill... Proud to be a member after watching all the interesting posts & reading up, getting back up to speed on the CXT's for the past several months after a long hiatus. If you or any other members are ever up in the Milwaukee / Chicago area & would like to get together for a ride, let me know.

Congrats on finding a nice 650T, I have asked myself lately why I bought a bike allmost 30 years old, with some parts that are rare at best, and why I went this way when I could have bought say a nice FJ1200 to do a little sport touring. The answer is everytime I pull out of the driveway I get this big grin on my face which I`m sure you will too.

Welcome, I was really interested in that bike n the Cape, I live in Westport, Mass and it was so close, but too many dollars away....  Good luck on the restore, and you can't find a better bunch of turbo addicts anywhere else!!!  I'm no mechanic, but the help I got here was enough to get me though a stator job with ease.

Very happy with his recent (April 2010) successful stator/mech seal replacement accomplishment !

Welcome aboard Boost! Sounds like you found a gem! You most definitely have bought yourself a great bike. Honda technology and reliability, which has made me a 30 year Honda loyalist (although I don't think there is any such thing as a bad Japanese bike, it's all preference). I have loved these turbo's for 20+ years, and have owned several. The thrill of the boost is with me today at almost 50, same as it was when I was 25. And yes, all of the tech help you need is just a post away. I can assure you that if you post a technical question, you will have several responses soon thereafter. Collectively, I don't think there is any problem we can't solve, with the knowledge which will rival or exceed Honda mechanics. Tires and oil usually come down to personal preference. I have had Michelin, Pirelli's, Dunlop's and Bridgestone's on my bike's. For my riding style, I love the Bridgestone Spitfire's. I use Rotella synthetic 15W-40 (WalMart, $15.00 5 quarts), with no clutch slipping. You can also do thread searches (IE: oil, tires, mechanical seal, stator, ProLink, etc). Anyway, welcome aboard, sir!!!
