Anyone have a working one sitting around? Drop me an IM with a price, and we'll see where we go from there. Had a CB master, but time has taken it's toll on it, and it no longer works(and i'm not drilling out the orifices to try!).
Looking to spend around $50 if possible, though i'm a tad flexible on that right now!

If it ain't one thing, it's another! Just put a new thermostat in last night, wake up this morning, NO BRAKES! WHEEEEEEEE!

A fair number of us have been buying new aftermarket master cylinders off of e-bay. I paid right at $50.00 for mine, and it works flawlessly. Far better - and in the long run cheaper - than trying to buy a used one along with a rebuild kit. Do a search on there and see if you can find one.

There were none, at least any that i found acceptable. And definitely not for $50. I'm a bit picky, like i need one that has a mirror mount, etc. Symmetry is kind of important to me on this one.  Heck, it was turning out to be a PITA just finding a CB750C master on there to replace the one on the bike. It's a dying site when it comes to these things, it seems. There was a new aftermarket one that looked ugly as hell, had no mirror mounts, and incorrect brake light hookups, so at that point i'm not going to make guesses on parts that don't even look like they belong on the bike, ya know?

I agree with Bryan, actually. I bought this MC on Flea-Bay for my 79 Deluxe:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FR-BRAKE-MASTER-CYLINDER-YAMAHA-MAXIM-XJ700-XJ750-XS750-/120598129206?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c14356a36

I bought it from this seller: usa-motorcycles-inc . They're out of Florida. The shipping was SUPER fast to western NY, like 3 days from payment. Total cost was $58.

It works perfectly on my CX. 14mm piston, 7/8 handlebar, 10x1.25 banjo bolt, single caliper. The ONLY thing I had to do was make a small 1/2" slit in the heat shrink for the wiring to get the spades to reach for the brake light. Also, normally Yamaha Maxims have a left-hand thread for the mirrors on the right side, but this one is actually right-hand so your mirror WILL fit, no problems.

The one I bought was all black, not silver, though:

Bravo! Thanks Rhino!

[EDIT] It's a bit more then i have right now. If anyone has the correct one, i think that would be pretty nifty to have anyway. I'll give it a few days and see if anyone has a good one laying around first. If not, then i'll pick one up next week, bills first. Stupid life, ruining the fun...

I am, indeed! Wouldn't be able to snap a quick picture of it, could you? Think it'll need to be rebuilt? And just the regular brakelight hookup spades?
