A pre-Requiem for this forum

I guess since we know this forum is going down, I just wanted a chance to say adios.

I am not usually patient enough to go cruising back through the line of posts to find what I need. In that way I miss the old Sweden board. Had a topic and tree to scroll down and usually the new posts would stand out in a different color than the read posts. And an option to see new posts. So the nostalgia runs through my veins. At the same time as the Sweden board there was a smaller USA forum. Then Phil Gilbert's HTTA site where we could post pictures and learned how ugly we owners really are. There was that SilverWing board out of Missouri that taught us about the Yamaha seal and other good things. When the Sweden board stopped new posts Charles took it upon himself to keep us together and the CX/GL forum took a couple transitional steps.

So I look back to the old posts here to say goodbye. I read the posts asking for prayers as my wife lay dying in the hospital. I read the posts eulogizing Dick in Raleigh. So many good people who no longer post, but also so many wonderful newbies. I hope we still stick together in the same spirit that the CX/GL forums have been known for. Many places on the internet marvel at how the CX/GL owners band together. Take a bow my friends.

I used to check the forum several times a day, but now maybe check in only every other week. Sounds as if I have a backseater to ride the GL650I at the Davis Rally in New Hampton,IA in September. I've talked about it before many times, but this may actually be the year. I'm going to a Twins game Aug 13, so more details will be known after that date.

See ya'll on the other side.

What Abes said....the forum is not going "down."  It's just moving to better digs to guarantee it'll be around as long as the bikes are.

Actually Charles is putting time into the pages too and if I can say it many if not all should be saved.

This new skin is going to look pretty but have all the guts the current skin has.
