How thick is the stock clutch cover gasket. I bought a gasket set online and question it's thickness but better yet. I already have a gasket that's questionable but why not use it for a template to make more. And gasket paper looks cheap so I figured I would go that route. Just need to know the thickness. I know I could buy the honda one for $7 but I'm just thinking ahead.

Damn Dave you made me question myself. Bike bandit has them for $7.80
And my brother had one on order last summer that the honda dealer for some reason couldn't find. They still owe him the $7.

I have been cutting my own gaskets. Rear case gasket cost me $3.80 ( 13" x 16" piece of gasket material) plus $ 4.99 for a cheap hole punch set ( found in basket by the front door of the hardware store ). After installation I used a single edge razor blade to trim the gasket to the outside of the case. It looks fine and better yet no leaks.

Good Idea. I bought a set of gaskets. Clutch, front cover, rear cover, and two others. Figured since I didn't need them at the time they would make great templates for when I do need them. I know I need a clutch gasket so i figured why not since I would still have one when I got done.

Don, The stock Honda one I have is .022. The after market one I have is .020. The after market one is what I just put on when I changed my clutch and it's working fine so far.

Thanks. Now I just have to get some papers. Any suggestions for where to get quality paper from?

Try a Napa dealer. I have had good luck with there stuff in the past. Just make sure it's oil rated.

Rear engine cover is the only one that I have read to be critical. I doubt that the clutch cover would care about thickness. I bought my material form Pepboys.
ROL Gasket brand. RK10116 FP-3157. Rubberized fiber. 10"X26"X1/32". (254mmX660mmX0.79mm). [Rated for oil, gas, and coolant].
That is .031. - Just more cushioning - IMO. - I forget what I paid. (5-10 $))
I still need to get a punch set at Harbor Freight. – Then I won’t have to macgyver a way to make holes. - .22 brass doesn’t work for more than one hole each very well. A larger caliber may work, much better, for bigger holes.
FIY - A GL spark advancer cover is the only gasket that I’ve done yet.
The clutch is next. @ ~ 37K miles.
I would not call it paper: I also bought TP 21 FP-3045 10”X26”X1/64. Treated fiber [for water and air only]. - Why? - - I guess that I just wanted to buy something for the bike. - I have not used it yet.
